North Vision Song Contest 36 • Grand Final Results

Hello, everyone. First of all, we have reached the end of the most interesting and the fiercest 36th edition of the North Vision Song Contest. Thus, with the change of the broadcaster, following the franchise issues from the former broadcaster, The Philippines saw a new chapter in terms of their performance at the contest (ahead of the "Associate Broadcasters' Final - happening on the 40th season), and the Filipino fans are ecstatic following its return and we are so grateful for having this opportunity to bring back the "glory days". So without anything more to say, here are my thoughts about the full results of the contest:

First and foremost, the whole edition of this contest was the most interesting in the contest's history, in terms of the entry content and its performance.

Second, Belarus, The Netherlands, Australia, and other fan-favourite entries should've placed higher than their usual spot, since it's not just because of the composition and its performance at the contest, but also it talks about the legacy of hope, peace, diversity, and most of all, unity, which was in reference to my comments in the semi-final results, just like the Albanian and Spanish entries as well. Thus, the first 2 mentioned countries don't deserve to be in the pre-qualification round.

And last but not the least, the contest means a lot to everyone, since it doesn't talk about popularity, masterpieces, among others, but as mentioned above, it talks about our "true legacy" and how we never take it for granted, as every song has a secret message.

And from the Philippine delegation, we would like to congratulate Sweden for bagging its 4th win at the contest and we'll see you in Sweden for the 37th edition of the Europe's biggest fan contest, this is "North Vision Song Contest"!

(8) This final was always going to be Sweden’s to lose and the most obvious winner won. That being said, it’s an absolute BANGER and fully deserved to win. Congrats, Jan, on your fourth (!) win! I look forward to another edition in Sweden.
(7) Although it had started to grow off me a little I’m so pleased (and surprised) to see this do so well. A new best result for Hungary and definitely a deserved one. Congrats! 
(6) I knew this was liked but I didn’t realise just how loved it was until now. An absolutely gorgeous entry which I wanted to give more points to. Such a deserving third place.
I’m unsurprised this did so well. I was never a huge fan but it’s undeniably a really solid and well-written entry – even if it’s been in pretty much every contest by now hfjshgsh – so I don’t have any complaints.
(6) A gem; I didn’t expect this to do this well but it’s a really lovely song which totally deserved to do so. I wish I could’ve given it more points.
(3) HGJSHJGSHS ICONIC. I can’t think of another song which has divided the forum so much but it still ended up AQing. Admittedly it’s as generic as white bread but also a guilty pleasure so I’m fine with it doing so well lmao (and definitely deserved for the HoD too)
(7) About where I expected this to finish. It’s a really good song but I think it ended up competing a little too late to be a contender for a higher spot. Still an amazing result after so many NQs though so congratulations!
(16) Underrated; eighth is a decent result but this should’ve been higher. I thought it was a pretty safe AQ – a really beautiful entry and definitely one of my favourites of the edition. </3
I very nearly gave this a point in the televote but Italy just edged it for me. Nonetheless, a totally deserved result for what is by far B&H’s best recent entry.
I only managed to give this a couple of points in the semi and so it was middling for me in the final but I am SO happy it did way better than expected. Congrats on your best result Dominykas!
(8) I’m really surprised to see this so low because I thought it was likely to AQ. Eleventh isn’t bad but it definitely deserved to place higher. </3 (at least I discovered a fairly local group though!)
(1) I remember ranking it last in the sneak peek but a) it was a strong SP and b) it’s grown on me massively since. What a BANGER and to be honest I prefer it to "Canguro" fhsgjhsjh a deserved placing 
A nice entry albeit a little middling for me in this final. "Métro Boulot Dodo" was always going to be a tough act to follow but it was such a chill song to listen to and I have no problems with it being left side!
This finished a few places higher than I expected. Nonetheless, the song was really enjoyable, and it’s nice to see Portugal in the final again too.
(14) This type of song is right up my street. A really beautiful and serene entry; its result is more or less what I expected but personally I would’ve liked to see it higher (lower left side at least). Another of my favourites of the edition
A decent entry and I’m glad the televote redeemed it. Wasn’t quite enough to get points from me but still a really nice song to listen to so 16th is about fair
A few weeks ago I would’ve been considered this overrated, but this has grown on me constantly throughout the edition – not enough to get points from me, but enough for me to say that this result is fair.
(11) Underrated. I’m glad it made it to the final but I would have liked to see it place at least a few places higher. </3
This is normally the sort of song I would love but something just didn’t click with me. Don’t get me wrong, I still like it, but I think the placing is about fair in this line-up.
I thought this would place higher; it's not really to my taste but I still enjoyed it. The problem is that I enjoyed most of these songs so it ended up being quite low in my ranking
(8) Really underrated. I thought this would place mid-table at least, but I’m glad it qualified. One of my favourite recent Sammarinese entries.
(5) ROBBED. This was far superior to "Plus jamais" in my opinion and I thought it would place WAY higher than this. </3
(16) ROBBED [1]. I had no idea where this was placing but it was too iconic to not give it my jury 12. I don’t know what she laced this song with but it is just such a fucking addictive yet chaotic banger and I love it so much. I’m SO glad it qualified at least
My least favourite of the final, unfortunately. Greek pop just isn’t my thing normally and this was an especially weak example of it in my opinion. I don’t think 24th is undeserved. Sorry </3
ROBBED. I didn’t give this any points but I was close to doing so and I’m REALLY surprised to see it so low. Definitely deserved better. </3
Definitely not the worst entry, but probably the most forgettable. None of the AQ’s felt like a last place contender, so sadly it was going to go to one of the less standout qualifiers and it turned out to be this one. It’s a real shame because it was a nice entry </3


I realised this was a questionable choice for a song contest when even I couldn’t remember how it went HGJSHFSJHS avoiding the PQR felt impossible so I’m not at all surprised, but genuinely delighted with 17th in the semi and 84 points, which was far better than I expected. I knew "Rabbi" was never going to be a universally liked entry, but I’m glad a few people appreciated it enough to give it points. Thank you all so much if you did vote for Lebanon, especially Serbia for 24  took a risk, turned out to be the wrong choice, but life goes on. Bring on the PQR!

As for the other non-qualifiers, Belarus and Ireland didn't deserve to PQR, and I don't think Cyprus was the worst song overall either. It's sad to see Russia so close to qualifying but at least it avoided the PQR. I'm glad Serbia (just) escaped the PQR too.
