from me. I like that Ukraine keeps doing traditional things, but that's basically all that I like in this entry at the moment ...

I get concerned when countries send something vividly similar to their predecessor (see Cyprus after "Fuego"... Finland this year might be on that path after the success of "Dark Side"- Finland hasn't selected their song yet btw). You risk being predictable, and a song does not become as appealing when you do that.
With that said, Ukraine avoids that despite the clear Ukrainian folk aesthetic and sound. Whereas last year was a full-on party banger, this year is full-on emotional ethnic ballad. I was very captivated. Maybe she can work on the cadence of her spoken word to be more intelligible (English is hard). The melody is the best part of this song. Very anthemic and inspirational.
I'm confident Ukraine will not fail to qualify this year. Perhaps another strong result is destined for her. The only thing that could hold this entry back is the broadcaster. I hope the current controversy subsides and is peacefully resolved.EDIT (2/23): Well, this is null and void now.

If Ukraine pulls the 2019 move again they might as well withdraw. I understand the "Crimea" rule but don't a lot of Ukrainian artist rely on the Russian audience not just the Ukrainian audience to make a career? Alina has shown she really cares for Ukraine and that's more then a reason to keep her as the entry.

Well my friends, The time has finally come for Ukraine to be banned from the European Broadcasting Union. I'm literally sick and tired of Ukraine starting all this BS every single year when the contest is not meant to be political. If Belarus got their consequences for similar reasons, it's Ukraine's turn. On behalf of the Eurofans, enough is enough

After about over a week of drama, scandals and utter chaos within Ukraine's song selection, we have finally gotten information from suspline regarding who they'll send as replacement for Alina Pash's withdrawal.
While their participation also looked to be in some form of danger, the runner ups of Vidbir, Kalush Orchestra, were selected to be the new representatives for Ukraine for the 2022 competition.
Thus, the poll has been updated to fit the recent news.
(And let's hope it stays like this as well)
