Select Song Contest #06

UNITED STATES

The United States have the great honour th host the contest for the second time and as delegations from many countries in the world are expected, the singers that have been selected to represent the hosting country are also coming from different countries. The theme of the selection that we chose (prior to our victory) for this edition is:

BORN ABROAD

We're not launching our national selection immediately because there is still a possibility that one of these songs happens to be uneligible (and in that case it would be replaced) but here are the five songs that have been chosen right now:

Song 1: Japanese Breakfast - Be Sweet



Japanese Breakfast is an American indie rock band created in 2013 from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania) and Eugene (Oregon). The frontsinger is Michelle Chongmi Zauner, born in Seoul in 1989 from a South Korean mother and an American father. She moved to Eugene with her parents at the age of nine months.

Song 2: POLINA - Djanga



Polina Gudieva was born in Moscow (USSR) in 1988 and emigrated to the USA at the age of sixteen.

Song 3: Edge of Paradise - False Idols



Edge of Paradise is an American metal band created in 2011 and base in Los Angeles. The frontsinger is Margarita Monet. She was born as Margarita Martirosyan in Yerevan in 1990 (USSR, current Armenia) then moved to Moscow at a young age where she became a piano prodigy. She finally moved to the USA at the age of eleven.

Song 4 : Esotique ft. Sabrina Sapal - Maharaja



Sabrina Sapal was born in Toronto. She is from a Punjabi family and moved to the USA at the age of three. She's running her career in USA and India.

Song 5 : Mitski - The Only Heartbreaker



Mitski Miyawaki was born in the Mie Prefecture (Japan) in 1990. Her father is American. She was raised in multiple countries before settling in the USA.
