good evening judges, for this eurovisionfest i decided to litrally just take the most iconic eurovision country ever, and that is ukraine. ukraine has literally always showed up, 100% qualification streak sweden could never! for those familiar with my family tree, you might know that i have roots there (donbas specifically but let's not talk about that oop), so this is a country that is NEAR and DEAR to my heart.
i really took the judges critiques to heart and decided to THINK for more than 20 minutes, and came to the realization that ukrainian women are literally the most powerful beings in the universe, and with these 3 entries that i present to you, is the proof and source that this aforementioned statement is 100% TRUE! EUROVISION ENTRY (2013)
Zlata Ognevich fucking ATE! there is not a vocalist that has stepped on this eurovision stage whose vocals even compare to that of Zlata Ognevich's. like every listen, i get fucking goosebumps. and these were LIVE?! like, im flabbergasted. the song is also so extremly camp, like the disney princess elements are just mwah chef's kiss. zlata ognevich is the ukrainian disney princess, trust and believe. you cannot listen to this and not think "damn, this woman is so POWERFUL, are all ukrainian women this POWERFUL?" and the answer to that question is abso fuckin lutely, next up we got
(i also considered svetlana loboda & verka serduchka, but i thought that miss zlata would better represent my vision) NS FLOP (2017)
omg.... like, tayanna gave us two stunning entries only to FLOP... and for what? FOR WHAT? who even COMPETED for ukraine? some MEN, who did not do very well. but tayanna? second win for ukraine in a row. trust and believe. i remember this so vividly, when she did not win. i think i am not alone, in thinking, that when this did not win, that some rigor mortis had taken afoot in ukraine. tayanna is a good example of a POWERFUL UKRAINIAN WOMAN.... who was silenced. by men. we cannot let this happen ever again, but, there is a final boss of powerful ukrainian women, and her impact was explosive...
NVSC ENTRY (#35)
i have to be quite honest, but i was going to send loboda twice in this ball, but i do not want to be read. but that goes to show the POWER miss SVETLANA LOBODA HAS!!! she has inspired a generation of homosexuals, provided us with an iconic music video that is so camp, and overall just served such an amazing bop. i gave this woman a 12 as co head of delegation of iceland, and you can check the receipts on that. and she should have won?? like who even won #35? nobody relevant i fear.
ALL IN ALL, these 3 women, truly represent UKRAINE, so well i fear.
💖 kрим це україна ліквідуйте мене, і почнеться третя світова війна 💖

AZORA RIVERS Eurovision FestFor this challenge I had to send three songs, a Eurovision song, a national selection song that failed to win, and a North Vision Song Contest song. I decided to choose Norway, as in recent years I have loved MGP so much and there have been so many iconic Norwegian NVSC songs!
For my ESC song pick, I’ve decided to go with my favourite Eurovision song of all time! This represented Norway in 2019, and while it’s not the most out of the box choice, I can’t describe how much this song means to me. Choosing just one song from a Norwegian national final is honestly really difficult. The recent years have seen so much quality. I decided to go with a song from the 2021 selection. This song got to the finals, and only really got attention by being in a weaker heat. When the final lineup was fully revealed, this song was definitely more under the radar and I don’t get why. It’s just incredible…
If I’m correct, Norway has had the same delegation since the very first edition of NVSC. And we have seen several iconic entries over the last nine years. However the entry I chose is from many years ago. It is Norway’s entry for the North Vision Song Contest 18. It’s a powerful ballad, and got an incredible 3rd place back in 2016. However I think it can compete with newer entries.
So there are my three entries from Norway, for the three different categories. I went with three songs that I really enjoy listening to, one being one of my all time favourites. I really hope the judges will appreciate these entries as much as I do!

Northvision song Zahara MERICHANE Northvision #37
Not gonna lie, I’m a sucker for Zahara and Puta, the parent album. I don’t follow Northvision as much as I used to but then I remembered that Zahara finally made it to NVSC (after losing a NS an edition before that if I remember correctly?). Merichane is the name of a prostitute from Zahara’s birthtown. Merichane was also a nickname given to her by school bullies, when she was only 12 years old (as explained in the end of the music video). By naming the single as her nickname, Zahara is facing the ghosts and bad memories of the past, reclaiming what once was used against her. As for the lyrical content, I cannot say much. But I reckon it could be about a high school romance. Who knows?
Yo estaba ahí metiéndome los dedos hasta el fondo Queriendo vomitar las penas, la vida, el odio. I was there, putting my fingers to the bottom Wanting to puke the sadness, the life, the hate
GANADORA!!

GIGI WELPLADE xx
Hi my gorgeous gummilicious girlies, it's me! Gigi! But you smarties knew that xx. So today I get to attend a BALL! And y'all know me, I love any excuse to get dolled up to the nines and party all night long xx I've decided to pick the former Eurovision powerhouse turned modern day megaflop the UNITED KINGDOM . I've performed in the UK before did you know xx
EUROVISION XX For my Eurovision pick I have chosen the anthemic house track "Where Are You" by Imaani, which came 2nd place in Eurovision 1998 and just happens to be one of my favourite Eurovision songs of all times x. This is the last time the United Kingdom finished on the podium in the contest, finishing behind the iconic Dana International. The pulsating beats of a soulful house totally felt current. An iconic attempt by the United Kingdom so it is sad that they have not been able to kick on from something that seemed so fresh for the time or even sent a truly soulful house track, something that is in abundance in the modern day music scene. Imaani's deep vocal is flawlessly delivered and the UK deservedly got a podium finish on home soil. The song was also significant in that Imaani was the first black artist to represent the country in the contest.
NATIONAL FINAL ACT XX I delved deep into the UK's national final annals of herstory and honestly there were several bops to choose from! I narrowed it down to two songs but I've decided to go with this whopper that makes me want to get up and boogie! xx "Woo (U Make Me)" by Michelle Gayle was absolutely robbed of going to Eurovision in 2008 after it lost to a wildcard choice of Andy Abraham of X Factor fame (whose song is cute tbh!). HOWEVER, Michelle absolutely ATE this national final performance serving a a super fun performance that just makes you feel so good complete with a dance break! I can imagine the Eurovision fandom eating every second of this track up because Michelle gives it fucking everything!! She is giving you a PERFORMANCE darling, which is so often forgotten at Eurovision. A song might be great but has it the overall package?! I definitely believe Michelle would've brought the UK a decent result with this song. There was so much potential for this track to absolutely slay.
NORTHVISION SONG XX The UK is a Northvision powerhouse as we all know winning the most recent edition! There is so much flavour to choose from the entries that have represented the country, particularly in recent times. There is VARIETY. There is ARTISTRY. There is CHARISMA. This is where the UK needs to turn it's head to when searching for Eurovision acts. There's such an unending pool of untapped talent in the UK that the national broadcaster really needs to try and entice to represent the nation in the contest and bring them back to the glory days. There's so many cool acts really pushing the boundaries of music. A top 10 finish seems an impossibility for the UK in Eurovision, but NVSC has proved there is a lot of love for UK talent. I've chosen the soulful synthpop track "Lazarus" by V V Brown because I feel this is where the UK needs to be! Maybe like Lazarus, the UK can rise to the top of the Eurovision podium once again ~

CHIBU KHAKI HUNGary
I wanted to trust my guts on this one so I decided to pick one of the most homophobic countries in the European community. These three entries mean a lot for me + I really wanted to showcase the Hungarian language so I think I smashed..

CLAMYDIA WEEK 4CHALLENGE: Eurovision Fest
SERBIA EUROVISION SONGHurricane - Loco Loco
Clammentary of the Song Choice:Serbia being my own country, I feel I have a right view of what I think represents the country overall and I feel for this challenge I want to go with what I think represents Serbia with these 3 categories. For ESC, I feel Serbia is defined by Balkans ballads that are highly popular. When I thought of Serbia, my first idea went to Molitva but I feel judges wouldn't really like us to send winners as that would be too easy. I was torn between Hurricane - Loco Loco and Jelena Tomašević - Oro but decided for Loco Loco because I feel it represents the new era of Serbia trying to go more uptempo and out of their comfort zone with ballads. Some would say it's too easy to send a recent entry but Oro was already present in DSR while Loco Loco being something more fresh escapes the repetitiveness from both contest. Also but I feel like overall I want to balance all 3 choices and I feel Loco Loco would balance my choice after choosing a National Selection Entry which I will talk about now EUROVISION NATIONAL SELECTION SONGWonder Strings i Ivana Vladović - Moja bol
Clammentary of the Song Choice:I've chosen song "Moja Bol" by Ivana Vladović from Beovizija 2019. I feel as maybe this sounds too safe as a balkan ballad and it's not Molitva or Oro but I feel it still is quintessential Balkan ballad accompanied with violins and levels that honestly would give goosebumps. This category I feel it's the hardest of the 3 as Serbia doesn't have popping national selections like some other countries but I feel there always got to be hidden gems in NS's that mostly get unnoticed. I feel this was def a contender to Kruna 2019 and would also fit the ESC stage if it was sent to the contest. I also considered "Bas, Bas" by Naiva from 2020's Beovizija but I feel this represents more of Serbian music industry and Eurovision journey so I decided to go for it. All this being said, Ivana Vladović is indeed returning as an artist in our national selection this year so this might be a good introduction to see what she brought and what she could bring this year. NORTHVISION SONGSara Jo - Lava
Clammentary of the Song Choice:Unlike in ESC, in NVSC, Serbia rarely delivers but when they do, THEY do and I feel this is one of the most current serbian songs to date in the contest. Of course I also considered "Trebam Te" by LEA but I feel both of the choices would be fitting as I feel as they do represent Serbian music industry, they also kinda differ from the normal Serbian mold (Something you would consider Loco Loco for example). I feel my choice really comes down to judges preferences, knowing 2 judges out of 3 are not fond of the LEA's tune while I know one person surely stans this piece. Lava is a song I would dream for us to send to the contest and we might get something similar this year with Sara Jo participating in Serbian National Selection and being a very likely candidate. Thus I feel it would represent ESC fest really well to showcase nvsc artist so indeed did esc before but also is an option for next year. Only 7 days left to find out what Sara will bring and a more than a month till we find out if she will be our representative but until then - I am sending a quintessential NVSC Serbian Entry that is talked about positively to this day.

Bitta Pill: Eurovision Fest There was only one country I had in mind: Portugal
A country with less than brilliant results, but a heap of brilliant songs.
ESC SONG: Conan Osíris - Telemóveis Was there any doubt? One of the most affecting songs of 2019, Telemóveis recounts someone wishing they had a phone to call heaven. The emotional context and the avant-garde instrumental make for a stunning song.
ESC NF SONG: EU.CLIDES - Volte-Face FdC 2019 may be my favourite all time NF, but to truly show the diversity that Portugal has to offer, I chose this one. A sultry tune, taking on elements of RnB and fado, Volte-Face is an enrapturing experience that I personally adore.
NVSC SONG: MEMA. - Fôle(go) Another powerful entry, this one by yet another FdC alum, MEMA. I personally prefer some of her other songs to this one, but it is a testament to her artistic kudos that this song is as good as it is. Truly fantastic.
