Despite Kamo Mhpela failing to qualify in  Lesotho, we can confirms that  South Africa will be present in  Senegal. Our entry will be selected internally this time, more info to be revealed at a later date.

São Tomé and Príncipe confirms their participation. This edition is a special edition for the country as it will be its 10th entry in the competition. The country representative will be announced today due to the very limited free time I have at the moment. Sílvia Barros will return for the second time to represent the small country after her previous participation in the 9th edition where she brought São Tomé and Príncipe for the first time not only in the top 10 but also in the top 5. This time she will represent the country with the song "Like'em".

Libya confirms participationLa Libia parteciperà in Mali!Tripoli • 15 April 2022After another rather successful attempt, the Libya Radio and Television (LRT) can confirm that  Libya will participate in the Own Africavision Song Contest 11 in Senegal. A press release revealed that the song was already chosen and will come from the hands of a non-African producer, as granted special permission from the OAfBU council since the rules prohibit any non-melanated involvement. However, LRT is currently in search for a native singer to perform the song, and is planning to hold an open casting in the coming days to match the best voice with the said song. Nothing more was announced in detail, just that "anyone holding Libyan citizenship are free to come to our headquarters and take part in the castings".
