As you know, I made a national selection with DIAMANTE against Anna Fiori. The problem is that DIAMANTE won't be eligible to the contest. Diamante Azzurra Bovelli was born in Boston from a Mexican mother and an Italian father. She is trilingual and probably has obtained the triple nationality. The problem is that there are only three criterias in the contest: be born in the country, having both parents from it or have lived there for five years. And Diamante was born in the USA, spent two years of her life in Italy and the rest in the USA, and has only one parent from Mexico. Her nationality doesn't count. There was a little chance that the members of her band (because DIAMANTE is not only her stage name, but also the name of her band) would be a way but I can't find any biographical information about them, just their names: Bryan de Leon, Max d‘Anda, Waylon Recto and Zach Bilson. So unless someone can miraculously find out that a majority of them are Mexican, I can't do anything but withdraw DIAMANTE from the national selection despite the fact that she's leading by 6 to 1.

That also means that the national selection is cancelled. It's not like for my thematic selections for USA where I always have more than five songs and can immediately replace a song if it appears to be uneligible. I only found one credible challenger to DIAMANTE after hours of research. But on the other hand, I don't feel comfortable with the score of 6-1 in favour of DIAMANTE so I decided to keep Anna Fiori but to send my secondary choice of song by her, that might be more consensual.
