The word I would use to describe these results is...
. Let me elaborate.
SEMIFINALS: SO CLOSE to making history. We could've had our first-ever nul points, but alas, it's not gonna happen this time.
Still so robbed. With three 12's at that.
Moral of the story:
Every vote counts! The fight for the win was just so close and so fierce. In the final day, the spot for first was claimed by various countries. Any single set of votes would've made the difference in who won, but with the votes I got, it is what it is. This really just shows how competitive this edition was because this final had a lot of high quality, so kudos to all the users for making this contest exciting.
I'm surprised this placed last. I didn't see it be in this position at all. I thought it would finish higher. But 53 points is still a great scores even though you placed last.
Not much to write home about here. This was in last place for most of the voting period until the last votes came in.
My
. A really good host entry. Should've finished mid-table at best.
Thought there would be more votes for this since it's riding on the novelty of Rwanda debuting. Indifferent overall.
Not a fan of the timeslot (I prefer somewhere near 1:47+), but happy to see the song in the final at least. Not Salt Ashes' best, but still nice.
My
. I know her material isn't for everyone, but it appeals to me.
This does not spark any reaction from me.
My
. Such a banger. Should've placed higher.
An alright AQ entry. If I listen to it, I'll get into it, but when I'm not listening to it, I forget about it.
I'm always happy that I get to be in the final, so I want to thank everyone who voted for Philippines. I appreciate all your points.
Definitely the best AQ of the three. It's fierce.
I should be annoyed by her vocals, but it works with the song. I love their attitude and the song bangs.
Many left ears enjoyed this song.
I think something happened in processing your RV, but I don't think it affected your result though. I think it fell where it should be.
Typical Central Asian pop, but with a rap twist! It's okay.
I'm shocked at how much I like this. The arrangement of the soft vocals and gentle instrumentation was done in a way that kept my attention while listening, so I consider this song impressive. This was very close to being in my Top 10.
Personally, I do not believe this song has any business being the final at all. This sounds similar to some of your past entries (and they've NQ'd). I'm not gonna find myself remembering this song moving forward. However, you have your devoted voters to thank. At least there's appreciation for this song, so I respect that.
My
! I wish this was in the Top 10. Probably my favorite Colombian entry... ever? It's so fun, sensual, catchy, and colorful. The opening of the MV just sticks with me.
Another surprise, not because it's good, but because it placed this high. It's just alright for me.
I never really vibed with this.
Hong Kong is really good at placing 11th recently.
This is sassy and a little edgy. It deserves this merit.
My
. This was winning very early on in the voting, but then it fell way off in the end. I would've been happy with this winning. She sounds great, and the production is also great. One of the best Italian entries in NNMC in a while.
My
. After the semis, I was convinced this would be a strong contender for the win, but 9th place??? What the hell??? It's personally not in my Top 5, though, so I'm okay with this result in the end.
My
. Rontti, you keep delivering with these epic Bollywood bangers! I LOVE this. Keep it up!
This was literally my 11th. There were just so many good songs in the final, but this was the one that ended up falling short. It doesn't mean it has some weak points. This is hot, fierce, and incredible. Personal preferences made the difference. Still, I'm happy with this really good result.
There's definitely a strong feeling and story that is coming from this entry, and I respect that a lot. It doesn't personally resonate with me, but I give credit where it's due.
My
! This has grown on me. This is a great song by a great band. It was already a standout from the beginning, but in the final, I started to enjoy it more. You deserve this amazing result.
My
. SO GOOD! I'm a sucker for quality electronic music, and this served just that. It also brought the attitude that I miss in most NNMC entries.
The fact that
Iraq,
Australia, and
Ghana all won their respective semis and none of them are in the Top 3 is another point as to how this final has been so strong that the results in the final is effectively a huge reshuffle.
My
. This was the winner just before the replacement votes were added. Between the Top 3, this was the only one I gave points to, and I would've been happy for an Ireland win. However, the prospect of a country being a first-time winner excited me more as the voting progressed and I saw the votes coming in. Still, I acknowledge how powerful and good this song is. You certainly deserve to place in the Top 3.
SO CLOSE!!! This song was not among my favorites in the final. Certainly, it has a catchy hook. However, most of the song I felt was lacking in energy. There wasn't enough power in the music to get me excited over this. Sentimentally, I would've been happy to stay in East/Southeast Asia for the third edition in a row (and fifth time this year). Also, this is now Thailand's best result in NNMC! Congratulations on that achievement!
I'm sure Thailand will find itself in the winners' circle soon.
I DID NOT SEE THIS COMING.
After all the joking concerning there being three Greek acts this edition, I thought this would be dismissed as a song that's just there. To be fair, out of the three, this was the likeliest to qualify. It placed 7th in the semifinal, so to see this surge ahead and win?!? I'm bamboozled.
As for the song itself, it's catchy and it slaps, but it doesn't blow me away. I ranked in the middle overall.
With that aside, congratulations to AussieGoomba for finally winning NNMC! (albeit it's not with a Central Asian country like you usually have) After Armenia
questionably won in #20, another Caucasus nation has pulled it off. Azerbaijan, the pressure's on you hehe.
See you in the 69th edition! It's slated to be the
nicest edition if you know what I mean.
