Entry announcement Weyes Blood is chosen to represent the United States in NVSC 40 ABF ABC has today confirmed Weyes Blood to participate in the Associated Broadcasters Final with "God Turn Me Into a Flower". Weyes Blood, also known as Natalie Laura Mering, hails from Doylestown, Pennsylvania. She is known for alternative music, with her 2019 album Titanic Rising being one of the most critically acclaimed. Speaking to NME, the song is inspired by "the Greek myth of Narcissus, a hunter who becomes obsessed with his own reflection". She further added:"All of our mistakes in the human race come down to this: we are continuously using these technological frontiers to strive closer to something, not realising that it’s our own death. China is currently taken as far as I'm concerned. You will need to wait until 16 January when the January 15th deadline will pass. In the latter situation, if China hasn't been confirmed, the country is yours.  |

The Philippines previously placed 17th out of 18 countries in the previous ABF in the thirtieth edition, but after confirming for the ABF in the upcoming fortieth edition, the country aims to go for a higher result, victory if possible. Her genre is a mix of a lot of different musical styles but she is heavily influenced by electronic pop, hip-hop, alternative, jazz, trap, and EDM.
