First of all, I would like to thank the 8 players who voted in the Canadian selection.

I decided to close it on this 4-4 draw - that confirms my feeling that this is probably the closest seletion I've ever made - as I finally took one decision. I'm not sending the song I like the most, because I like them at the same level and I would probably have sent both to a contest without random countries. My decision is based on the spirit of the contest. If I drew Kazakhstan two editions ago, there was an obvious reason called Periishte - that I found thanks to the ultimate source I decided to check. If Canada didn't finish in the top 15 that edition, there must be a reason. If I drew DR Congo (the worst possible for me) last edition, there must be a reason. If Canada missed top 15 last edition and ended in the list of potential draws for me, there must be a reason. And if BB Puma released her song just before this edition and made me reconsider the choice I made for Canada back in October 2022, there must be a reason too. So my final choice is...
