Current Head of Delegation, permanently withdraws from the contest. It’s been 10 long years since I’ve joint the contest, but I fear it’s time to step down, as I’ve been losing my motivation throughout the editions, and having less and less time to search or give the contest the time it needs. I had some wonderful moments here, starting with my very first win with Greece back in the days the contest was still in the Facebook group, and, even if not winning, with the UK having amazing results and a great time. This is goodbye and I wish you all the best 🫶🏼 Thanks for many memories in here and OESC will always be special as the first contest to ever join! 🤍🤍 PS. The UK will NOT, be up for a draw, I could not just let it to someone random, a player has already been informed. 🤔

ICELANDIC SONG REVEALED!10 Ágúst 2023 • Reykjavík, Iceland With a new edition under way, RÚV has announced that despite the new low you slags gave to slag, head of delegation, Miho Erísbur, has read through the submissions, and we have our entry.
RÚV has been accepting applications from across the country for weeks. One song however caught their attention early on. He's an icon, she's a legend, he's giving, she's serving, they are the moment, he's craving something new and wants to give her a piece of you! With that being said, let's meet them!
JÓNSI & ELIZABETH FRASER! Jón Þór Birgisson, otherwise known as Jónsi, is a musician from Reykjavík.
In January 1994, Jónsi formed the band Sigur Rós, alongside Georg Hólm and Ágúst Ævar Gunnarsson. Kjartan Sveinsson joined the band shortly after their debut album was released. The group has become one of the biggest musical exports Iceland has ever had. In 2010, Jónsi released his debut solo album, Go. It would talk over a decade before his next album, Shiver, would release. The song he will be performing in Luxembourg is from that album.
He will be joined in Luxembourg by Elizabeth Fraser. Fraser rose to prominence as the vocalist for the legendary dream pop group Cocteau Twins. Fraser joined the band in 1981, after being found at a disco in Grangemouth, Scotland, where she was DJing. The group was active from 1979 until 1997, when the group disbanded. However, their legacy paved the way for other dreampop groups like My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, and Beach House.
Commenting on RÚV after being selected, Jónsi and Fraser stated that:We both were quite disappointed in the Icelandic result from last edition. However, we both decided that now would be the time to compete. We want to thank all our Icelandic and international fans for their support. We will do our best not to disappoint! post unapolagetically stolen from Dylan, the other hod of Iceland RÚV © 2023

The United Kingdom confirms with a new delegation! Published: Guernsey, 10 August
In a remarkable turn of events, the former head of the United Kingdom's delegation George J. embarked on a diplomatic journey to the picturesque island of Guernsey. The visit aimed to forge new horizons in the world of music and international camaraderie. During the visit, a momentous decision was made as the UK's delegation formally handed over their position to none other than Guernsey's very own Kinoshita Kirkland.
The discussions were held against the breathtaking backdrop of Guernsey's scenic beauty, adding an extra layer of significance to the proceedings. The warm atmosphere and shared enthusiasm for music acted as a catalyst for this momentous agreement. Kinoshita Kirkland, the head of Guernsey's delegation, displayed a fervent commitment to the cause, a passion that resonated well with the UK's former head of delegation.
As part of the exchange, a resounding commitment was also made to the upcoming 61st Own Eurovision Song Contest, set to take place in the heart of Luxembourg. Both delegations expressed their eagerness to participate and showcase their finest musical talents on an international stage.
But the excitement doesn't stop there. In a trailblazing move, a fresh chapter is set to begin with the announcement of "Own Eurovision: Unite Up for Music" a brand-new national selection process. This innovative initiative aims to bring together diverse musical genres, highlighting the rich tapestry of the United Kingdom's musical landscape. The new selection format is committed to celebrate the cultural treasures that lie within each region and showcase the vibrant music industries of not just England, but also Scotland, Wales, and Cornwall. The spotlight will shine on the distinctive melodies, rhythms, and voices that characterize each unique region.
In a joint statement, the new British delegation head expressed their excitement: "This collaboration symbolizes unity through music. We are thrilled to bring together our musical talents, embrace our differences, and create an unforgettable experience for the 61st Own Eurovision Song Contest."
The announcement has stirred up anticipation within both the international music community and the local population. As the journey to the 61st Own Eurovision Song Contest unfolds, the world eagerly awaits the harmonious fusion of melodies and cultures that will undoubtedly leave a lasting mark on the stage.
Stay tuned for more information and unite hearts through the universal language of music.
