Samoa Unknown - "Song of the Mau Rebellion" (4:06+) (1940) This is probably the most interesting song I've ever sent, some youth group was singing this song when I was visiting my mom's home village of Fasito'outa, I thought it was very beautiful that it has a story behind it and was quite shocked to see that it was on youtube. I don't remember much about what they said but to put it simple, this was a song that was made about the Mau Movement which was a rebellion movement against German occupation in World War 1. The song itself was written in I believe 1923. What's interesting is that, because this is a chant, the song technically doesn't have a title, but I guess we're going with "Song of the Mau Rebellion", and I'm not even sure who the people in the recording are singing. I can't find any information on the internet, my mom's not sure, but according to youtube comments, some guy said that it sung by some people in Leolumoega (which I guess would make sense they are next door to Fasito'outa, but still isn't really relevant) I'll try to do more research but for now, I'll just keep at it "unknown", I have no idea if that's against the rules lmao

Amanda we've had a couple entries by "various artists" competing, so I guess you should be fine. An original pick btw.

The worst song we sent. After a rigged vote (Serbia, Montenegro, Vojvodina and Kosovo) voted for her (Serbia), and (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Macedonia) voted for Danijel Popović "Ma daj obuci levisice" (Croatia), and that was the collapse and end of Yugoslav Radio Television (JRT). Slovenia and Croatia left the JRT at the end of June 1991

In June 1992, Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) was expelled from the EBU due to the war in Croatia and Bosnia and was banned from participating in the Eurovision Song Contest and the European Football Championship. The ban lasted until 1996
