Western Sahara has chosen! Western Sahara has chosen their song that they'll sing in the beautiful country of Zambia. Please welcome... Aziza Brahim with her song "Thajliba"! Aziza Brahim is a Sahrawi artist who previously represented the country in the third and tenth editions of the contest. Her song is in the language of Hassaniya (or Hassania), which is a dialect of Arabic found in Mauritania and Western Sahara. Timestamp: 0:25 - 0:50 RV will soon be revealed.

What are the exact guidelines of this edition, since a US-born artist is allowed? She's born in the US to Ghanaian parents but she now lives in Ghana so it works, as she's based on the continent

But I understand that there are exceptions in that case.

What are the exact guidelines of this edition, since a US-born artist is allowed? like lux said, she currently lives in ghana, but she was also raised between both accra and nyc. but one of the main things that i take into consideration is where the bulk of their career is based in. amaarae's career, especially pre-"sad girls luv money", was focused almost entirely in west africa. the same can be said for shanky and ghita lahmamssi and PÖ. that's why i'm willing to overlook the fact that they might not be born in africa in this case. calema, despite the being born and raised in st&p, are both based in and have focused the vast majority of their career on portugal. hopefully that makes sense
