 Turkey has confirmed participation in Eurovision Song Contest 2012. The broadcaster hosted a poll on their website where people could vote for which artist they would like to see represent Turkey in Baku. It could be any Turkish artist. Once the poll had closed, the broadcaster contacted the artists and asked if they would like to participate in ESC for Turkey in 2012. They started by asking the artist who got the most votes, followed by the artist who got the second most votes and so on. The first one that said yes would participate for Turkey in 2012. On January 9 it was confirmed that it would be Can Bonomo. On November 22 his song was presented in a live show at 18:20 CET. The artist for Turkey is Atiye Deniz. A German singer with turkish descents.

Can you provide a source? I only heard rumors about this. The selection process written in the first post are coming from official sources. I don't see why they would stop this selection idea all of a sudden and go internal like they said they wouldn't.

I think that someone have misinterpreted the source article since both Turkish and English Wikipedia says January 1 as well.

I don't know, but I think when a TV show said that this artist will participate, so I don't think that's wrong.

Maybe it wasn't really confirmed on that show? Do you know Turkish? I just think German Wikipedia is out dated since it doesn't even have Jedward written on Ireland.

This show is a show by Stefan Raab. He won with Lena in 2010. In his TV show "TV Total" he was speaking about the ESC 2012, because the casting of the German National Final "Unser Star für Baku" are in the next weeks. So he had show which countries found his stars and there were Turkey, Cyprus and Ireland. But however. Let's wait!  |
