| END OF AN ERA </3 |
Being given some extended time to decide on its participation, it is with huge sadness to inform that an era that started 6 editions ago, with MeidĖ winning the first ever edition of Lietuvos Garsai, and coming 2nd in the North Vision Song Contest #37, is finishing with Gabrielė Vilkickytė's spectacular win and a 9th place reached in Portugal with the melodic "Patalai".
The victory of Patalai marked the last edition of Lietuvos Garsai, the Lithuanian national selection for the North Vision Song Contest. Over the six editions that the selection took place, it served 60 unique songs, performed not only in Lithuanian, but also English, Polish, Hebrew and Serbian. It also saw 4 super-finals held, with "Like Me" and "Vėjas" being the only winners selected in the first stage of the national selection.
As a Head of Delegation, in these six editions I have dedicated an enormous input to the Lithuanian history in the North Vision Song Contest. Not only did Lithuania manage to have a record-long appearance streak in the grand finals (currently totaling 6 finals in a row and still going), but also managed to repeat its best score and come 2nd in the grand final. This result was followed by two more Top 3 placements, reached by "Netikėta" and "Like Me". 4 out of 6 participations ended up in the Top 10, with "Patalai" by Gabrielė Vilkickytė bringing the Baltic country 9th place in the grand final. In the period of editions #37-#42, Lithuania had the same number of grand final appearances as in the editions #15-#36. And for such a small country as Lithuania, this is a huge pride.
That being said, with my current move to Croatia, there is less and less time to be devoted towards the NVSC participation. I am beyond thankful for all the people who always were hyped for the Lithuanian entries and who ended up falling in love with them, expressing their love for the songs by streams. Seeing foreigners streaming Lithuanian music makes my little heart extremely happy and I am very thankful for that. To sum everything up, Lietuvos Garsai will not happen anymore. Unless someone else decides to revive it. Putting that aside, Lithuania has always been a little bitch that steps on the necks of the big European music powerhouses in the contest, and, most importantly, will always remain. That is because the next Lithuanian representative will be selected internally, I'm not leaving anywhere, as much as some would love to see that. Expect more news soon! VASSIŁINA to represent Greece! VASSIŁINA η εκπρόσωπος της Ελλάδος Several weeks ago, the Greek broadcaster ERT confirmed the participation of the Mediterranean nation but without any information regarding entry and entrant selection method. After the delegation meeting in Athens, the team decided to organize a national selection to determine an entry. However, the artist is already internally selected by the committee, and we are ready to introduce her right now. Please welcome ...
Vassilina Megkla, or with her stage name VASSIŁINA, is a Greek singer-songwriter based between London and Athens. She composes pieces that balance pop aesthetics with dark electronic influences. She presents a live punk melancholic soundscape, with references from electronic and avant-pop; as well as the British and French synth-pop and electro-pop scene. With a strong stage presence, intense delay, field recordings, and dramatic polyphonic vocals VASSIŁINA stumbles between chaos and dance music.
In March 2019 she self-released her first singles Pain and Blue House and within a year she performed in various venues around the UK, Greece and Italy. In May 2021, she released her debut LP “Fragments” by Inner Ear Records. After the release of her debut album, she headlined various shows in the UK and Greece, including headlining an all-day festival at The Shacklewell Arms(LND), and played in festivals such as Pride Athens, In-edit, IOS Festival, Athens Digital Art Festival, Athens Music Week and In-Orbit organised by SNFCC.
She has collaborated with other greek electronic artists such as Northvision winner Die Arkitekt, Bonebrokk, NTENTENIS and Metaman and currently collaborating with Kadebostany on his upcoming releases. They released their first single “Lovelace” on October 2022. She may be familiar for Northvision fans as she attempted to represent Greece back then in Northvision Song Contest 37 with the song "Not Friends".
On March 16, VASSIŁINA was announced as the next Greek representative in the continent-wide European music competition North Vision Song Contest. Her entry for Montenegro will be nationally selected via the program NorthSong24.
Stay tuned for VASSIŁINA's entry!

Zürich • 18 March 2024Switzerland will debut Romansh language! During this past days many artists were battling to represent Switzerland in Montenegro; 40 selected songs started in the Quarter-Finals, and only 2 reached the Super Final; with no further ado we present you the winner of Helvetia Festival 43:
ANIKK
Born as Anik Casutt in Canton of the Grisons, located in the Romansh speaking region of Switzerland, she stands out because of her dreamy voice in a way of capturing feelings and emotions. Whether in the studio or live her songs are intense and stirring, always with a touch of melancholy. She was able to attract the attention of the Swiss media with the debut single "Tgi eis ti?", earning her a power play from all SRG radio stations.
The newcomer has been crowned as the Helvetia Festival 43 winner in her debut edition, with a 64% if the votes in the Super Final. Here we present you Priya Ragu's successor!
Tgi eis ti? M/L: Anik Casutt, Sandro Dietrich TS: 1:57+ (30s)
The song is presented in Romansh and the tittle translates to "Who are you?", marking an historic event in Northvision, as it will be the 4th language to be debuted in a row by Switzerland (after Thai in the 40th edition, Welsh in the 41st and Tamil in the 42nd).
We believe ANIKK will make us proud again, good luck to everyone and thanks for allowing me to showcase the unique music of Switzerland.
