Iceland confirms participation
Reykjavik, 9th November 2024
RÚV, the Icelandic broadcaster, has just confirmed that Iceland will be participating in the 45th edition of North Vision Song Contest which will be held in 
Romania.The country confirmed it would be participating despite a bittersweet 11th place in the semi-final with
Gríma and her song Burt. The Icelandic fans were initially excited following interest in their entry among NVSC fans, however were quite disappointed when Gríma was not announced as one of the qualifiers of the edition. The interest in the contest compared to the previous edition fell as well as RÚV reports that viewing figures were much lower than expected.However despite these setbacks, the delegation will remain committed to participating in the 45th edition. However they are currently divided on the issue of the selection process - the Head of Delegation does not want IJBOL to be held once again, while others in the delegation would like to see it continue. The decision will be taken at a later stage.
