About
This edition was the second edition after the short break of WVSC.It was held in Cape Town,first time organizing an African country! 38 countries devided into 2 Semi-Finals,with only 20 finalists,and a lot of changes,the winner has been finally decided.We will remain to Africa,as Egypt took the trophy!
In the first Egypt's try,they already took the award! The winning is called "House of Cards" sung by Myra Sky,from Egyptian parents but born in Boston Massachusetts, and raised in Knoxville Tennessee, Myra Sky grew up under strict cultural principles where becoming a professional singer couldn't be anymore far-fetched.More details about the singer can be found here.
Egypt also won in the second semifinal with 141 points,8 points in front of United Kingdom with Ellie Goulding and her song "Anything could happen".This is the the 3rd time where Ellie Goulding tries but she managed to place 3rd,2nd and 2nd respectively.Egypt also won in the final by a difference of 16 points.In the Semifinal 1 , the things were a bit stranger than in the other recaps.France won with a difference of 3 points in front of Australia,the same with Serbia,142 and France had 145.Trinidad and Tobago managed to place 10th in the Semifinal 1 with only 6 points difference from 11th place Pakistan,however the weren't so interested in the final and didn't vote,so they were disqualified.In the second Semifinal,Spain didn't vote and it was disqualified,but as Spain was in the final,an envelope chance was there,which 11th place Lithuania took it,as a 10th place now,5 points away from the 11th (12th) place China.
