Marcin Perzyna, chief agent of Polsat TV said that Eurovision focuses more on the show, and not the music, and that there is the "phenomenon" of voting for your neighbouring countries. He also adds that on the other hand, Eurovision is the best chance to promote Polish artists abroad, but that they haven’t had any success in doing that. I think Poland are losing interest.

Poland is one of my favourite ESC countries And it would be sad if Portugal withdrew :/ I doubt that will happen in 2013, he has to do the X Factor tour. But in 2014... o.o They said the same thing about Johnny Robinson for 2012... he's a possibility

There is a chance that the country of Lucia Moniz, Simone de Oliveira, Dulce Pontes and Vânia Fernandes (amongst other great singers) withdraws from the Eurovision Song Contest due to the economical crisis. The Portuguese government is planning to privatize the public broadcaster RTP: the main television channel RTP1 and the radio channel RDP would be sold to other channels, and the second television channel RTP2 and the radio Antena 3 would be closed. The RTP is the only Portuguese television member of the EBU so if the RTP1 would be sold to another channel (not member of the EBU), this could be the end of Portugal in the Eurovision Song Contest unless another television channel applies to become member of the EBU. No decision has been taken yet and nobody has made a forecast. We all hope that the RTP will still be able to take part in the ESC (which is still very popular in Portugal), but it all depends on the decisions of the Portuguese government of Pedro Passos Coelho. I hope we can have a (positive) answer soon! ESCtoday may get a confirmation from Montenegro today!
