Not a big surprise, but a sad loss indeed.

I highly doubt Spain will withdraw, they're a main key to Eurovision...and I don't think they will want to lose their big 5 status...that is very unlikely! www.rtve.es/alacarta/videos/eurovision-2013/Their Eurovision page is updated, and to me it shows they have plans for Malmo.

My thoughts on upcoming countries: I highly doubt Bosnia and Herzegovina will withdraw, they have a great track record. Never missed a final, and came 3rd in 2006. I'm positive BHRT will confirm soon. The unknown one, RTVSLO said they could have the money in time...so I am hoping for a Slovenian confirmation. I have the feeling they'll withdraw...but I really don't them too! I love Cyprus! I have higher hopes for Greece. They've got the sponsor, and they should be able to pay the participation fee before the deadline...I hope.

How much is it for a country to join?

It varies by country, the big 6 pay more as without them Eurovision wouldn't be possible. As for Greece it's around 120,000 Euros.

I think I saw something the other day that Greece would have to pay €120,000. I guess it's about the same for everyone else but I don't know
