I love their entries! I'm just surprised they can afford to compete in both!

I find it weird that Slovakia and Portugal have withdrawn due to a financial crisis, and Moldova is one of the poorest countries in Europe...and yet they participate in both ESC and JESC. Moldova is the poorest country in Europe Albania is the second poorest country in Europe and they also performed in both

The financial crisis is not an excuse There's other.. I have a strange feeling ESC will become like JESC in few years.. The rating is slowly descend, the songs are cheaper and cheaper, the final results and the geo political vote make the countries lose interest. I think also that's a plot for Portugal and Slovakia

The participating countries could be 40 if slovenia and bosnia confirm and greece withdraw. 41 if all confirm

No way in hell will ESC become like JESC, to me JESC is kinda like a spin-off to ESC so it's not a surprise that there's not a lot of interest in it. Also saying that songs are getting cheaper is a matter of opinion as some people will say there not cheap and some people will say they are cheap

Ill see if this year's songs were cheap:
Albania was simply stunning and unique Austria was unique, I wouldn't say it was cheap, but it wasn't meant for Eurovision Azerbaijan, invasion of the Swedish composers Belarus was very cheap Belgium was very cheap Bosnia and Herzegovina was good, if a bit unoriginal Bulgaria was good, a bit unique Croatia wasn't very unique, the song was boring Cyprus was more cheesy than a bag of Wotsits! Denmark wasn't original in the slightest, quite cheap Estonia could have been better, it was too lazily done to sound original Finland was good France was just cheap Georgia... cheaper than anything ever before Germany was very unoriginal, very cheap Greece was the most unoriginal thing in human history Hungary was boring and cheap Iceland was cheap Ireland was cheap Israel was good and original Italy was unoriginal, Per Sempre was much better, may have come in the top 5 Latvia was incredibly cheap Lithuania too, but Donny made it unique in his own way F.Y.R. Macedonia was cheap too Malta was cheap Moldova was cheap Montenegro was cheap, no matter how original it was Netherlands was cheap Norway was cheap and unoriginal Portugal was too similar to its 2008 entry Romania was cheap, Romanian pop music has a band tendency of sound too alike Russia just didn't care San Marino was composed by Ralph Siegal, enough said Serbia wasn't unique, it tried to cover up it's cheapness with the traditional instruments Slovakia was cheap Slovenia was cheap and unoriginal Spain was very good Sweden was unique and great, which is why it deserved to win Switzerland was cheap Turkey way cheap Ukraine was cheap United Kingdom was cheap
In conclusion, Eurovision is very cheap, but 2012 was actually less cheap than other years
