I think Turkey's reason is stupid, the big 5 have been around since 1997 and now they're only withdrawing? Typical. Without the big 5 there wouldn't be a Eurovision.

I also read that another reason for there withdrawal is the 50/50 televoting jury think. Probably coz they got 22nd in jury this year. Anyway, but seriously they should appreciate that they are nearly always in the final usually finish top 10 unlike some countries who hardly ever qualify to the final, but hardly any of them are whinging about that (especially the Netherlands) so I take Turkey's reason to withdraw as selfish IMO

So they didn't qualify in 2011, which ended up Turks voting for Azeri's. Hence why Azerbaijan won. So their songs aren't always liked by the juries, but in televoting they're never short! They're always near the top. They've had a history of respectable results, and they throw it back at Europe.
