DMPG 2013 a great success, with TV ratings and iTunes sales.
The Dansk Melodi Grand Prix took part last Saturday and the number of people who watched the show is the highest since 2010. Denmark has a small population, with no more than 5 million inhabitants, but few national broadcasters can receive high viewing figures like DR receives for DMGP. This year, 1.785.000 Danish people watched the Final on TV, wich is the highest viewers number since 2010 when about 100.000 people more where watching.
The show recieved a good rating of #4 on a scale from 1-5, with 5 being the highest. Most watched TV programme in Denmark the past week was one of the semi-finals at the World Championship in Handball for men. A semi-final between Denmark and Croatia, which started just before the dress rehearsal for the DMGP had ended.
In the half hour before the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, DR hosted a warm up programme that was watched by 883.000 people. You can view a statistic of the viewing figures in Dansk Melodi Grand Prix since 2000 below:

iTUNES SUCCESS FOR EMMELIE DE FOREST
In the meantime three DMGP 2013 participants enjoy iTunes chart success as Emmeli de Forest, Mohamed Ali and Simone are in the top three of the charts respectively. This is not something new in Denmark as the past four years it became a trend at least for the winner of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix.
RTE to announce artists and songs, on February 7th.
Ireland is back on the usual Eurovision routine after two years with the twins in the spotlight. RTÉ Radio One will premier the songs for the national final on February 7th while the national final is already set for February 22nd. The five acts will be also presented and appointed to their mentors previously announced: Mairead Farrell, Shay Healy, Mark McCabe, Niall Mooney, Stuart O’Connor.
Serbian broadcaster RTS has confirmed that it has received a sizable 171 song entries for its upcoming Beosong national selection. An expert panel of judges now have the task to select only 15 songs which will be performed in the semi final on March 2. A televote will decide the five finalists that will vie for a ticket to Malmo a day later on March 3.
This year’s national selection has attracted huge media attention and lots of interest from famous artists. The latest rumors being reported by Serbian media is that Željko Joksimović (ESC 2004, 2006, 2008, 2012) has composed the entry for the popular singer Nataša Bekvalac. Several months ago it was suggested that Nataša was chosen as an internal choice by RTS.
