 CUNNING DORX |
[/size][/b][/td][/tr][/table] Cunning Dorx is an alternative rock-band from  Austria.
The band was founded April 1994 by the schoolmates Christof Ulreich, Beno Unger and Patrick Peklar in  Burgenland, Austria. After just some weeks later, the lead guitarist Alfonso Bauerfeind signed in. In the early years, Cunning Dorx made their debut by performing in clubs around.
The first album "Flauschangriff" (Velcro attack) was released in year 2001. At this time, the musical structures were characteristically complicated for Cunning Dorx, as the song titles and the lyrics were random looking and seemingly done meaningless.
The bass was played by Albert Bock, and Beno Unger had left the band already at that time. Though they worked together, in the later stages, when they were in recordings and performances of the band. After emerging from Bock in Autumn 2003, the bassist Bernd Schmudermaier and keyboardist Markus Hoffmann were in Cunning Dorx. The use of synthesizer and piano opened up a new dimension of sound to the band.
Schmudermaier's conscious succinctly held bass-drive fit in well with the new line of the musical band. Structures with simpler, clearer lines and serious, mostly English, texts.
The second album "This Kind of Beauty", was published and presented in October 2005 by the young  Viennese label Oddtime Records, and by the singles "The Blue Rider (Save Me)" and "My Sweetest Symphony", those songs runs on a basis since September 2006 in Austrian alternative music channels like FM4.
The videos was shot by fellow director Ulrich Dallinger.
The style of the Cunning Dorx has changed since its more than ten years of existence several times. The remaining is the mixing of very different styles of music, which is mainly due to very rich musical background of the band members. Thus, for now discover influences from alternative rock, hardcore punk, Celtic folk and classical music.----------------------------------------- Next artist to be found will be from  Lower Austria.
