So I really like the "Spanish Nook" and thought about starting this thread when Rick proposed it! You can post anything about Germany or German things you know, like, speak, heard etc etc ;D So when I went through YouTube I found this very interesting video about our beautiful accent

And as what I've posted in the now-defunct WVSC forums, before I always watch DW (Deutsche Welle) and from there I knew these words: Nachrichten = news Kultur = culture Musik = musik Aus der mitte Europas (their tagline) = At the heart of Europe Das/Die/Der = the Fussball = football Koln = Cologne Munchen = Munich Jetzt = Next and many more... Oh and I always see this woman on DW Journal: Days of the Week: Montag Dienstag Mittwoch Donnerstag Freitag Samstag/Sonnabend (I'm not sure which is for Eastern and Western Germany) Sonntag 1-10 (Not from DW anymore ;D ): Ein Zwei Drei Vier Funf Sechs Sieben Acht Neun Zehn Volkswagen = People's car Deutsche Botschaft = German embassy Euro (pronounced as oy-ro) = European currency Ja = Yes Nein = No Danke schon = Thank you Bitte = Welcome/Please Willkommen = Welcome a(not the answer to thank you) and many more... I just can't remember the others.

I wish I spoke German. In Pennsylvania, most people are German and German is spoken but it is known as Pennsylvanian Dutch (Deutsche). Ich liebe Deutscheland!

I have German lessons at school, and they are by far the worst. I really wish I had chosen Spanish instead

They said it's a German dialect but to me, it sounds like a mix of both German and Dutch
