Slovenia decides on March 8th, with the return of EMA. RTVSLO have announced today that they will select their entrant for Eurovision 2014 on March 8th, from 20:00 CET. It was revealed last week that EMA would be returning as the format for the selection, however not much more is known than that at this stage. The artists and the composers however will be selected internally, with no public call for songs. But the Slovenian public will be able to select the entry through a public televote. I was listening EMA songs some minutes ago.. And another song in March..

Submissions window is closed. Yesterday, Moldovan broadcaster Teleradio Moldova basically confirmed the previous reports that the interest for Eurovision this year is rather low, announcing that, by 9pm last night, only 25 candidates had submitted their songs. TRM added that “most of the names are new.” By today, however, more candidates were expected to submit their bids. Last year, the number of candidates was 49. Now the jury will listen to the songs both as recordings and then live, selecting 24 songs internally. They will be split into two semi-finals, on 11 and 13 of March, and the winner will be chosen on the 15th of March. The winner will be selected by a 50/50 mix of televote and jury votes. There is a new twist this year: from each semi-final, seven songs will advance to the final by jury and public vote, and a further eighth song will be “saved” by televoting alone. So basically the judges haven't got to select 24 lucky acts for the semifinals, but they have to select 1 unlucky act to go home
