Despite some places on Earth, like my home country
the UK, Thailand is a very well mannered country.
School- Students will greet me if they see me in the mornings with wai (the Thai bow) and will say either "good morning teacher" or "sawatdeekaa/sawatdeekhap ajaan"
- Same with me and other staff members, we greet each other every morning with wai and "sawatdeekaa/khrap"
- At 8:00am every morning this is played over the speaker system in school. All students and staff will stop and face towards the flagpoles where a student will raise the national flag every morning whilst it plays
- Then at assembly (every morning) students will either hear a school band or this (English translation included in this version):
While students, staff (including myself) will stand and sing

"Prathet thai ruam lueatnuea chat chuea thai,

- Students will the disperse to classes where they leave their bags outside the classroom and take off their shoes before entering the classroom.
- If they want to leave the class i.e. toilet etc they must come and ask me "teacher may I please go out?"
