Yeah mostly because such countries take part in a contest like 3 times on 30 editions with artists who aren't from there  Yes but the rule makes it easier to send more entries for example if Denmark is blocked than you can take Greenland Still it's not fair and it's illogical. |

I personally think that all this dummy nations thing is a bit silly... so you dont get Denmark, so what? These things as well as ancestry that the great great great great grandfather of the singer had gets things like Demi Lovato representing Ireland.

I personally think that all this dummy nations thing is a bit silly... so you dont get Denmark, so what? These things as well as ancestry that the great great great great grandfather of the singer had gets things like Demi Lovato representing Ireland. No it's not silly. I mean, those type of countries are taken only when the main country is already occupied. Demi Lovato for Ireland is another example: Maybe one relative just lived there for a bit then re-moved to america (for example) so it's like I'd send  Koit Toome for  Spain because in 1300 he had a grand grand grand grand grand grand grandfather who moved there, had a son and moved in Estonia again. Just for example. The contest itself isn't anymore so "real" with all those countries taking part. It's ridiculous seeing Guy Sebastian for  Tuvalu just because it can borrow songs from  Australia. It's more ridiculous seeing  Vatican City represented by  Lady Gaga again, because Lady Gaga has some connections to  Italy, and again,  San Marino and Vatican City can borrow songs from Italy. It's most unlikely that Emmelie has some connections to  Denmark, excepting the damn fact,  Greenland is dependent by Denmark. And that's not even a cultural fact. Is even the language similar? No, it's only politics. And I don't like seeing a good artist representing a country only once. That's my pov. |
