Why did you Dutchies not tell me that saying "jij" is very impolite? It's not impolite. It's just okay to see "jij" if someone is between 0-20 years, and if you know that person very well, you could also say "jij" to him after those ages. You just say "u" if you'll be polite, like at your grandparents or someone who you don't really know that good (for example a seller in a store). But to your friends it's just normal to say "jij", "u" would be a bit crazy to say to them. But yeah that's a difficult thing...

Most of you were telling me to say "jou" instead ________ Today at school we learned that only "vriende en kennissen" say "jij" to each other People under around 20 you call "jou" and "volwassenen" you call "u" I hope I'm right with this EDIT: It's actually exactly what you told me LOL I LOVE DUTCH

You just use both in an other way, like "is die krant van jou?" (is those newspaper yours?) and "lees jij de krant?" (do you read the newspaper?). So there's a little difference between both, but that's not very big. It's just important to use the "jij"-parts (jij, jou, jouw, etc.) & the "u"-parts (u, uw, etc.) for the right people. And a little mistake, but it's "vrienden" and not "vriende".
