First Semi-final Tonight!
Today, Norway celebrates 200 years of constitution! The day is special itself, but it can be more if you think that the eighth Northvision Song Contest kicks-off tonight in Bosnia & Herzegovina. Despite the flood problems, the executive supervisor doubts any scenarios of delaying the contest, as everything will go like the schedule. Norway and "Younger" will perform 13th in the running order of the first semi-final, tonight. The show will open the French singer, Alizée for Monaco, and after her the winners of the second Northvision Song Contest, the band TinkaBelle for Switzerland. They may not be the favourites to win again, but they have already a lot of fans back when they competed in Reykjavik in summer of 2013 and won. Ira Losco tries for the third time for Malta and Ryan Dolan, some months after announcing in public that he's homosexual, participates with the ballad "Start Again" (a song against every way of bullying) is one of the Norwegian favourites based on the polls and the medias. The blind Georgian singer, Diana Gurtskaya will sing in number 05. Eleni Foureira and Greece, winners of th PQR, will perform twentieth in the semi-final, before Denmark with Nabiha "bang the drum" and close the semi-final. The show starts on 19:00 (Norway time) and will be broadcasted in NRK 1 HD and in nrk.no.

NRK confirms participation for #09! NRK (the national broadcaster that decides the future of Norway in the contest) was waiting for the semi-final results to finally confirm to the ninth edition. Julie Bergan qualified (again) and there was a very positive mood in Oslo today. After five successful editions of Den Norsken Sangen, with the last three of them, being with the same format, NRK decided to change the way of selecting the Norwegian entry a bit.Gold Final to decide the golden ticket!Inspired from the popular Melodi Gran Prix (competition held to decide the Norwegian song in the Eurovision Song Contest), NRK came into the desicion of adding a Gold Final in the sixth edition of DNS. That means, that ten songs (nine from norwegian artists and one from one other country) will fight for four "golden" tickets to the Superfinal when Europe will need to vote again in order to decide the winner. Voting will be like always with the Northvision style of voting in the first round, while the voting system in the second round isn't announced yet. The songs will start being announced in the public from Saturday, 24th of May until Monday, 2nd of June.

Click here to have a look at the new website of Norway only for NVSC!
You can have a look at the previous contestants, vote in the polls and try the quiz to see how big Norway fan you are (please, don't use Wikia for the answers or any other source). Excuse me because it's still very amateur.
Also, it was announced from NRK that a best of show will be held between North Vision Song Contest 10 where poeple can vote for the best entry of Norway in the contest.

Norway in the top of Northvision Song Contest! You can scream, shout, let it go and fire up this show as Norway is the big winner of the eighth Northvision Song Contest, held in Bosnia & Herzegovina! An amazing performance by Julie Bergan gained the 12 points from Moldova, United Kingdom, Latvia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Poland and Lithuania and in total 187 points putting Norway in the top of the scoreboard and in the top of Europe! Ukraine came second and Sweden third. Julie Bergan, a 19 year-old girl from Skien, impressed with her talent and grace and now Norway has to host the next Northvision Song Contest!Julie had to say after the results and of course shocked and happy: Oh my god! I can't believe that I did it for Norway! I never expected that I would get even close to the Top Ten with all these amazing songs and singers I ehard and met in my time here in Bosnia! I still can't believe it, I am so honoured. Thank you so very much for all the votes that you have been giving to Norway. We will present you the best edition ever next time! NRK stated in its announcement: NRK wants to congratulate Julie for the victory she brought to Norway, and can't wait to start working on the next edition of NVSC! Thank you, you made us proud! A lot of people had to celebrate the win in squares in Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim.
What is waiting in the corner now?"Younger" has already peaked high in charts across Europe with a first place in British charts, two weeks now. A lot of interviews, concerts and much more are awaiting for Julie! In the broadcaster, they will already start planning for the next edition to find the appropriate venues and the city that can host such a big event, as the Northvision Song Contest!Who will fly the Norwegian flag in the homeland?
This evening the sixth edition of Den Norsken Sangen will take place in Oslo Spektrum and the voting lines will open in order to decide who will represent Norway in Norway! We should also note that the winner of DNS 6 is already qualified in the final so that puts less pressure in the contestants. The NVSC winner will open the show tonight performing of course, the song that brought the contest to Norway, "Younger". 10 contestants will perform (one of them, Carina Dahl, second best result in NVSC history) for the four tickets to the Gold Final. NONONO, from Sweden, will perform as interval act.
Don't forget: "We're not getting any younger"! Maybe next edition's slogan?
