Because she's one of the most known and famous  French artists outside France. It's like Lou Bega, Scooter or Tokio Hotel would participate for Liechtenstein.  It may be a shock for every one reading this but Alizée is definitely not popular! She made some songs that worked in the 2000s but tha majority of the population doesn't like her and nobody listen to her since at least 5 years. So a participation for Monaco is more than realistic for her because France will never want to be represented by her. A participation for Monaco would represent for her an opportunity to get back in the French charts, bafore a flop I know all of you love her, so I break a myth : Alizée is not popular in France! That's why I said " outside France"... If you ask a german for a French singer they will say David Guetta, Alizée, Zaz, Mylène Farmer, ... And that's also why I compared her to Lou Bega, Scooter, Tokio Hotel... nobody listens to them anymore in Germany. But they still would never represent Liechtenstein (neither Germany except they bring out a new song). But nevertheless, it's only an online song contest with realism and not reality. |

I did not know she was popular outside France  And you know, I wouldn't be shocked to see Alizée represent Monaco : she was born in Corsic, and it fits quite well with the selection mode of Monaco in ESC 2004-2006 : casting unpopular singers from Corsica and Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. And now Alizée is not popular anymore, it just makes sense  |

For me NVSC would be PERFECT, only when all the artists will be unknown and it will be a "new talents song contest" or something like this.
