What is Rising Star Online?
Rising Star Online is a new contest hosted by me which bases on the TV show
"Rising Star". In this contest, everyone who wants to can take part. If you're familiar with
my national selection for the North Vision Song Contest, you may have a clue how this
works but there will obviously be major changes in this version. I hope you like it.
What makes this contest unique?
The most unique feature about this is the anonymity. This means that
you will send your entry to me only and no one will know it until it will be
presented in the actual contest. (This only works if you don't spam your
entry everywhere on Tinychat or Togethertube etc.)
This makes the "first listen" very important, unless you send
a song that everyone knows. Find the perfect strategy!
Another feature is that you may be able to send the song(s)
that you like the most, meaning that it doesn't matter if they
are (J)ESC songs, overused songs, songs from before the 2000s etc.
The only rule here is that a song that already participated can't
participate again. Otherwise you are totally free!
(If most users prefer this the other way, I have no problem with it.)
I am currently planning to do this contest without countries but if
it's in favour of the users, I can change that.
There will be live voting only. This means that if you miss to vote,
it will be your own fault but it won't influence you as a user
or your participation(s). You could theoretically send an entry,
do nothing, and win if many people like it. But I am guessing that
you obviously want to vote, as you can also vote for yourself.
The voting bases on Rising Star aswell.
There will be either polls or a special website or app in which
you can vote "up" or "down" for each of the entries that are
presented. These "ups and downs" will be calculated into %.
The song(s) with the most percent will do well, the others will not.
How does the contest work?
It will work without any recaps. There will be togethertube
shows in which the live voting will happen, of course.
I am planning to hold Semi-finals and a Final, so
each edition should take a longer time.
There would either be two Semi-finals with 10 participants
from which 5 would qualify each or
two Semi-finals with 20 participants from which
10 would qualify each to the Final.
The winner of the Final would just be the one with the most %!
