RULES
I. Entry Rules
1. (Junior) Eurovision songs are not allowed. Disqualified/withdrawn ESC NS winners are also not allowed.
2. Songs can be released in any date.
3. Covers and remixes are allowed, as long as the original or another cover/remix hasn't been sent yet and not of a popular song.
4. Instrumentals and revamps are also allowed.
5. Entry originality will be observed more strictly from now on.
II. Artist Rules
1. Artist can be of any age.
2. Artist must have a relatively fair to strong connection to the state they're representing. (residence, heritage, parents, etc.) Though it is ideal that certain states ( ) send artists with strong connections.
3. For groups and collaborations, at least one of the members has to be from or have roots from the state they're representing. (But, groups like Fifth Harmony for Tonga and Pussycat Dolls for Hawaii will be rejected.)
4. The artist(s) must be alive to participate.
5. Borrowing artists from other nations is prohibited, unless the artists have connections to the states they are set to participate for. (See II-2)
III. Player Rules
1. Once you take a state, it will be yours until you withdraw/take another free state.
2. As only 32 states are eligible to participate as of now, we may not see semifinals in this contest any time soon. Instead, if all 32 states are taken, a large final will take place.
IV. Voting Rules
1. The voting style depends on the number of participants. It may be the standard Eurovision style if 11 or more states compete, or it may even be the Melodifestivalen style for 8-10 states.
2. It will usually take 7 days to vote.
3. In case a tie has occured, a countback (which is basically whoever gets a higher amount of 12 points, 10 points, 8 points, and so on gets advantage) will be used as a tiebreaker.
V. Strike Rules
1. A user may recieve one (1) strike if they:
- fail to confirm/withdraw by the deadline.
- fail to send an entry by the deadline.
- fail to vote by the deadline without requesting replacement votes.
2. A user may recieve half (ยฝ) a strike if they... (before the official "deadline has passed" announcement):
- confirmed after the deadline.
- send an entry after the deadline.
- vote after the deadline.
3. A user will unfortunately be banned from participating for two (2) editions once they recieve five (5) strikes. Their state will also become free.
4. A strike may be removed from the user each time they vote for 3 editions in a row, whether they're required to or not.
5. If a user has been caught cheating, they will be indefinitely/permanently banned from participating in the contest.
