THE COUNTY SONG FESTIVAL
The contest is based around the counties of the United Kingdom and Ireland. Guernsey, Isle of Man and Jersey are also included in this contest, but they are not divided by subregions. The counties and dependencies which are allowed to participate are in this sheet linked here (Northern Irish counties are included under the Ireland). Any county or dependency that is not in the sheet will not be allowed to participate.
(Note: Counties with an asterisk (*) and bolded on the sheet are drawable counties and thus, can only be claimed via a random draw).
Rules:
1) A maximum of 50 counties and dependencies are allowed to participate per edition.
(Note: Any latecomers will be added to a waiting list and can only post an entry if a participant fails to submit an entry. If the Waiting List user votes as part of the Rest of the Counties (ROC) jury, then they will automatically receive a spot for the following edition).
2) The top 6 from the previous edition will be automatically qualified to the grand final.
3) Acts must have at least 25% connection to the chosen county.
4) There are no borrowing rules.
5) You do not need to send songs for approval. However, you must post proof of the connection on the entry reveal post regardless.
6) Originality is recommended but not required. However, mainstream artists (e.g. Adele, Ed Sheeran etc.) will be automatically rejected.
7) Songs must be released from 2012 onwards.
8) Songs must have under 50 million views at the time of submission.
9) Songs from the (Junior) Eurovision Song Contest or any of its spinoffs and national selections are prohibited.
10) No national selections for the time being.
11) You must vote if you are participating in the edition. Non-voting will result in a strike and a disqualification in the main edition and the following one.
12) Cheating and bloc-voting is prohibited and will result in a strike and disqualification in the main edition and the following one.
