It was my first time participating as a CoD and I really enjoy the crop of songs this edition. Well done to all of you! Big congrats to Adria for their first win. Now I will try to write my commentary similar to NNMC so long text ahead x

It was a brilliant winner. Belén Aguilera definitely excels in this song and this is a decent pop song. Unfortunately the top 10 was a strong crop of songs and I had to put it to commiserations sadly. Still that didn't stop Andorra from winning and I'm delighted to see it! Well done Adria!

I wasn't really fond of the song sorry and in full it didn't convince me sadly. However, the whole package was iconic and the 666 really created a topic. Congratulations on the second place and well done on the effort as always!

This is quite artistic I have to admit though didn't really grasp me in the end. Still that recap slot is really strong, which showcases Vaida's exceptionally strong vocals. Love the melody in the chorus too. Well done Dom for this amazing bop!

This is otherworldly and I'm super happy to see it finish in the 4th place, despite having an inkling that the sound may not be of everyone's taste. Wezn really excels with ballads and this is very touching with the instrumentation and the vocal style. I love the buildup throughout the song and the bridge is stunning. It is absolutely beautiful and surely a contender for the best song of the year for me.

This is epic but sadly I did predict it to flop like it did in another contest where I sent this song. I love the brass in the background in the chorus which adds a lot of punch to the song. The use of traditional Ukrainian instruments is clever and gives this song a unique sound. This song is meant to put you in awe and it has done it. Sadly I think it lacks a powerful ending particularly the melody in the vocals becomes monotonic in the final chorus, which is possibly why it didn't convince that many people in the end.

Sad to see this missed out the top 10 by a tiny margin. Nonetheless, similar to Ukrainian entry I really enjoy the ethnic elements in the song. The instrumental drop in particular is a huge selling point here which fuses modern pop elements with traditional Israeli instruments really well, and the production team also makes this really catchy too. That also doesn't cover the fact that the vocal buildup to the drop is also amazing and I like the melody there too. I wish it has a bit more variation though but this is still amazing.

This is banging. I absolutely adore the instrumentation here which packs a big punch, and what can I say about the drop... simply outstanding. It also helps the fact that this is sung in Latvian! All these make the song stand out a bunch for me. My only criticism would be the lack of power of the vocals at times which didn't wow me as much as the instrumentation. Still this is well-produced and congratulations on getting 7th Luiri!

This is something completely different from the votes above. This is a lot less heavy in the instrumentation department, but that is a selling point on its own. I love the ethereal feeling from the instrumentation and the vocals add a lot of depth to the song. Some may find it boring but I think the entire atmosphere is mesmerising and huge props for sending this song which I would have deemed as a risky choice. 14th place is not bad but I would have fancied it to be higher. Well done Sinny!

This is another special banger which has a lot of unique elements incorporated. The drop surprises me a lot here. I love the lack of harmony and melody but this gives the drop a lot of punch as the drums are accentuated, and the vocal style is clever. The other amazing thing is the tonality here. I'm struggling to pinpoint what the mode is but it appears to be E Phrygian Dominant scale from what I find on the Internet so far, so at least this is in a completely new territory that I have never encountered in pop music, so props for making it work fantastically. Just a bit more variation then I would have put this a lot higher. Still well done on a top 10 result William!

This is a well-produced pop song though it does come across as formulaic at times. It has a great melody and the instrumentation is decent. I love how the instrumental drop appears after second chorus as well. Overall this is quite catchy though would prefer the vocals to be a bit less produced. It certainly did not deserve to finish last though.

This is also another well-produced pop song. The chorus melody fluctuates a lot which grabs my attention definitely, and makes the song quite memorable actually. I don't recall exactly why it didn't grasp me that well though checking back they did do a bit of variation in the instrumentation at the end, maybe the melody in the vocals is not varying much. Still I think this should deserve higher.

Ah this is quite a catchy tune. I love the chorus melody and the ahhhh part there. It does fall a bit flat towards the end, which is why it grabs me a lot on the first few listens but grows off me pretty quickly. Still this is a decent song imo.

This is another amazing atmospheric song which does fade away into the background a bit. That being said love the overall vibe and congratulations on finishing 8th!

Commiserations:
Huge congratulations to Mihai for achieving an AQ spot with this song. This is special and the instrumentation is really grand, though I would have loved to have the vocals lifted up more with something more intimate (cue Cornelia Jakobs comment that it will NQ coz it's not intimate enough). It almost made my points though so well done!

RUFUS DU SOL is an amazing electronic artist. This song is probably not his best but still a pretty decent song. I do want to have the song start a bit earlier in the recap to feature the buildup and the drop but it is still enough to demonstrate a spectacular soundscape. It is an incredible work from RUFUS DU SOL. I particularly love the 6th descending leap in the chorus which makes this track memorable (I'm not sure on this but this is supposedly a Neapolitan chord resolving to a tonic chord with very faint hint of an intermediate fifth??). It almost made my points but well done on getting 16th place.

Sorry for babbling on some music theory in this post but once again congratulations to everyone and well done especially to Adria on getting the gold!

Overall good results so many songs grew on me this edition. And this made it even harder to vote.
About my spot, kinda saw this coming so I am not disappointed, amazing it got such a support after all thank you for that.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA honestly I don't know what should I say. Obviously losing by 2 points may give me nightmares in future BUT AAAAAAAA SECOND PLACE!!!! I expected a top 10 position but this is way more than I was ready to anticipate, thank you so much to anyone who voted Finland Also thank you Jan for suggesting 666, never thought this would win Pohjoisviisut or achieve a top 3 placement.

Congrats 𝐴𝑑𝑟𝑖𝑎̀ for the victory! I wasn't fan of the song, but the victory was 100% deserved.

The fact that my are in bottom six and only my and managed to get to the top 10   Either I had a bad taste this edition or most of my favorites got robbed. Anyways and deserved a way better result.
