After myself winning the latest edition, I have decided to choose the next decade which is the the 1970s as the decade and welcome to ...
1992
They are no restrictions regarding the genre of the song. However, the view count for songs will be capped at a maximum of 50 million YouTube views (based on the most viewed video).
Please ensure that your entries are released between 1st January 1992 - 31st December 1992.
Rules (Note: they have been a few changes since last edition):
• Use common sense, don’t be a dick basically, don’t intentionally cause drama etc.
• To keep it simple, they will be no countries. Participating entries will be associated with the user who sent it.
• You do not need approval to post your entries, when you find something just post it.
• No songs from (Junior) Eurovision nor its national finals nor its associated spinoffs (e.g. Turkvision, America Song Contest).
• Obviously songs have to be released on the random year of the edition. Songs released on an album one year but released as a single the year after are allowed for both years. (e.g., Britney Spears’ “Toxic” is eligible for 2003 and 2004). The same applies for the vice versa, for when the single is released a year before the album.
• Covers are allowed, only if the original would've been eligible for a previous edition and if it wasn't sent.
• Remixes are allowed, only if the remix was released in the same year as the original song and has not been sent already.
• Recaps are not expected to happen for this contest, however, you must provide time stamps your entry (30 seconds).
• The host of the edition can control the decade the random year is from and can change rules concerning the genre or view limit of the song.
• If the contest gets popular, there is a 30 participant cap each edition (Similar to Random Countries Song Contest (RCSC) and Themed Fantasia).
• No two artists can participate in the same edition. This will be dealt on a first-come first-served basis.
• No songs containing hate speech and/or extreme propaganda.
• Obviously, no cheating, blocvoting etc.
Also give a warm welcome to justin05 who has joined the staff team.
When you post your entries, you can post either in the #entry-reveal channel on the RYSC Discord Server or under this thread (or both!).
