GENERAL RULES
Divas and their songs
Divas must be from or have a strong connection to the country. For groups, only 1/3 of them need to be from a country to represent it. For smaller nations, this may be relaxed a bit. I encourage smaller nations to be represented so I am willing to bend the rules a bit for them.
There's no age limit for songs. Artists must be alive though.
All songs must not exceed 15 million views on YouTube.
Please be diligent with who you send. Homophobia, racism, transphobia etc will not be tolerated here. Artists who are openly homophobic, racist, transphobic or support genocide/war will not be permitted and knowingly sending them can get you kicked OUT!
Which countries can take part?
Pretty much anywhere on Earth can be represented - including all UN members + Kosovo, Palestine, Taiwan and Vatican City.
This also includes British overseas territories and crown dependencies, French territories, Dutch territories and so on. However they all must be inhabited and must be represented by acts that are native to the territory, so don't try sending Nicki Minaj for Kingman Reef.
NO BORROWING IS ALLOWED AT ALL IN YOSHI'S NEW DIVA!! Artists need to be from or have a good connection to the country/territory they represent.
Some other notes:
Antarctica can participate in the contest. However, the acts must be connected to the continent and there's no borrowing allowed.
In Europe, Abkhazia, Artsakh, N*rthern Cyprus, South Ossetia and Transnistria cannot participate.
In Africa, Ceuta & Melilla will participate as one entity. Somaliland cannot participate for the moment. Also if anyone's interested - Ascension Island & Tristan da Cunha will participate as part of Saint Helena. I say this because y'all find music from just about anywhere on this planet.
In America (North & South) - Saint Barthélemy & Saint Martin will compete as one entity due to their small industries.
As of 11th February 2024, Israel cannot compete in Yoshi's New Diva without prior approval from the host (this falls in line with the "problematic artists" rule).
