Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins 2
For the Icelandic participation in the Northvision Song Contest #8, RUV will organize a second edition of Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins that will be held in the Harpa Reykjavik Concert Hall on the 9th of March.
Ríkisútvarpið opens the submissions from Icelandic composers and singers, that will be able to submit their compostitions until 4th March 2014. Eight songs will be selected by a jury panel and will perform in a final. The show will be aired LIVE in every RUV channel (including RAS 2), the website ruv.is, northvision.tv and the web-stream service, toghetertube.com. The schedule of the show is yet to be decided.
Voting Method
The Jury Panel will be formed by 8 International Judges whi will rate the songs with 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 points. Their rank will be decisive for four qualifiers among the eight contestants. Meanwhile, the Icelandic people can vote for their favourite at 900-101-XX and at "Stop Voting" lines will be closed and a rank will be made. The number of Text Messages to send is 10, like in the previous edition. Among the four lucky jury qualifiers, the highest placed contestant from the televoting rank wins the competition and the ticket to the next Northvision location. Basically the jury selects four acts, and the televoting selects one among those.

All the selected songs will be revealed on the 4th March 2014.
The submissions period is closed, 49 artists have submitted their songs to RUV, from where 8 were selected from the jury panel.
