Turkey isn't an European country too, ok just a part of Istanbul is European but we are able to participate, so why not Australia too?  I am very exciting already for their entrant! |

Omg, why is it such a big problem that Australia takes part for just one time ? Some people act, like this would be the end of the world. It won't change the ESC that much, it's just one non-European country who takes part once I could imagine, that it will win because many people will be surprised in May when they see them voting  |

I imagined this would get so much criticism. So I'll post another opinion on this: Why can't you just stop complaining.  Australia is A ONE OFF OCCASION. It's the anniversary edition, and anniversaries should be special, so this is the special part! It probably won't happen ever again unless Australia wins this year! There are many countries which are not classed as ''European'' but they fall into the EBU and EBA (European Broadcasting Area) which includes  Algeria,  Armenia,  Azerbaijan,  Egypt,  Georgia,  Israel,  Jordan,  Lebanon,  Libya and  Morocco and  Tunisia! All of which can take part. Plus SBS is an associate member for years. They have broadcast ESC for years. If I could be right in saying that they are one of the few who broadcast it for a long period of time (other than the ESC participants obvs) so I don't see why not, they should be invited as a guest as they are dedicated to the contest. But still, some don't understand it's for one year.  |
