The EBU didn't allow it back in 2009. They would allow it now  They try to get  Turkey back because the ratings are VERY huge in Turkey! What would they try now? To accept another broadcaster in the EBU which could bring the Turkish entries? In that case I would've expected already any application from another Turkish broadcaster. No there aren't any applications for that though there are REALLY so many professional broadcaster. They will try now to meet TRT again |

It can't be true. I sent an e-mail to the Head of the Music Industry of TRT and told her about the rumours of Erdogan and Eurovision. Her reply:
Hello,
we reveived the permission to participate at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest by the board of directors. We didn't select the artist and withdrew due to the reasons that were announced to the media. We told everything to the media.
