Mord's Predictions #2Ranks: Utmost Certainty, Positive, Good, Fair, Not good, Slim, little-to-none, None Belgium: The Outside Shot Belgium has constantly been shoved aside for other songs this year, however I wouldn't write off its chances of doing well. The song, which has clearly been influenced by Lorde's 'Royals', does not accommodate to everyone's tastes. This works in Belgium's favour though, as their standout entry could propel them to the final and to the left hand side of the scoreboard. Provided Loic provides a strong vocal and good staging, Belgium has a good chance of qualifying and possibly even getting a left hand finish. Belgium's chances of winning? I don't think they're very good, but it's not impossible. Chances of qualifying: GoodChances of winning: Slim The Netherlands: The Shock Qualifier Victim, The Borderline Qualifier One of the first songs this year, Trijntje's song is a feel-good anthem but fails to have a wow moment during the song. Being presented so early has meant the song has been lost in the shuffle among Eurofans, but I think the song will put up a pretty good fight for the last ticket to the final. They could shoot themselves in the foot giving their 12 to Belgium (and vice-versa), but Trijntje will provide a valiant fight for points. It will be a challenge for the Netherlands to get a hat trick, but it isn't impossible. If it gets to the final, it will be on the right hand side of the board. There are many better songs this year and I doubt the Netherlands will repeat their 1975 victory in Vienna. Their lack of friends with evident voting blocs also threatens their chances. Chances of qualifying: FairChances of winning: None
Tomorrow, Finland and Greece.

Mord's Predictions #3
Ranks: Utmost Certainty, Positive, Good, Fair, Not good, Slim, little-to-none, None Finland: The Shock Qualifier, The Upset This is a very interesting situation, because Finland could replicate Russia 2012's success (the sympathy vote), or finish dead last in the semi final. Assuming televoters go for the sympathy vote, it could quite possibly do quite well and finish in the Top 10. It won't win, nor get to the Top 5 simply because the juries would kill the song (it is truly awful). If there are no tears shed, Finland will certainly finish dead last in SF1 without a question. The juries will slaughter this song and no love from viewers will leave it struggling to get points. As for the song itself, it is awful and should never have won UMK in the first place. I never followed Finland's NS, but I don't have to think twice to know there were better songs. If it jerks tears, there won't be many happy campers, and a country that truly deserved qualification will miss out. If I had to guess, Finland will not get sympathy votes simply because the song itself is really bad. Russia's grannies didn't have stellar vocals, but they were cute and had a song that wasn't so terrible. Chances of qualifying: Fair Chances of winning: None Greece: The Underdog Many Eurofans have predicted that Greece would fail to qualify from the final for the first time, ever. But you have to be kidding yourself. It's Greece, and the song isn't too bad either and will get some jury love. It won't set the scoreboard alight and pose a threat to anyone majorly, but it will do better than they did in 2014. Chances of qualifying: PositiveChances of winning: None
Tomorrow: Estonia and Macedonia
