Mord's Predictions #7
Ranking of Chances: Utmost Certainty, Positive, Good, Fair, Not good, Slim, little-to-none, None Denmark: The Non Qualifier, The Borderline Qualifier Denmark falls into the category between certainty of not qualifying and on an outside chance of qualifying. The song itself is boring and nothing special, and the fact that it is wedged in-between two huge favourites (Russia and Albania) that are predicted to win the whole semi final certainly give a reason for last year's hosts to be worried. The only advantage it has over other countries in a similar position is that they are later in the show, but this is irrelevant as Anti Social Media (what kind of name is that anyway?) will most likely be forgotten between Polina and Elhaida anyway. Denmark are going to need a miracle to stand out between two favourites. Unfortunately, I believe that Denmark will be absent from the final, for the first time since 2007. Chances of qualifying: Between slim and little-to-none Chances of winning: None Albania: The Dark Horse A modern song accompanied with strong vocals, if staging is executed well and Elhaida is pitch perfect during her performances, she will definitely be a force to be reckoned with. A favourite to take out SF1, Albania's a shoe in to qualify. Considering Albania does not have an overwhelming number of friends or much political influence, they will lose the upper hand against other top contenders such as Sweden and Russia. They will have dead certain top points from Italy, where she is a familiar face, neighbours Macedonia, Greece and most likely Montenegro if Serbia does not qualify. If the juries take a liking to the song and Albania takes critical points from usually neutral countries such as Switzerland, Austria and Belgium, they could be the dark horse and snatch victory. Elhaida's won several competitions across Europe, whose to say she can't win the biggest of them all? Chances of qualifying: Utmost CertaintyChances of winning: Positive
Tomorrow: The last two countries of SF 1, Romania and Georgia.

My Prediction #3 EstoniaEstonia is very likely to qualify. It's one of the 192810 duos this year and it reminds of The Common Linnets, but it's still a good song. Their voices fit together but they should practice their vocals a bit more tho. The song is catchy and an earworm, but it's not something special, so I can't see it winning. They should also improve the staging, as their performance at the NS was pretty boring tbh. If they improve their vocals and the staging, then this will qualify 100% as it will also get enough neighbour votes. My Prediction: 3 - 5 in the semi final My Hope: 7 in the semi final MacedoniaThe song is actually quite nice, but I can't see it qualifying tbh. Daniel hasn't an amazing voice, his vocals aren't the best and his performance at the NS was also not that awesome. The song could be an earworm, but it won't stand out perfoming between Elina & Stig and Bojana. It's forgettable. Although I would like to see it at the final, it probably won't happen, as both, jury and televoters, won't rank this song high. Their only friends in this semi are Albania and Serbia, which isn't enough either to qualify. My Prediction: 14 - 16 in the semi final My Hope: 10 in the semi final SerbiaI'm always laughing when I see people predicting her to fail. I mean, it's not the most original concept ("normal" song turns into a disco song) neither the most original message. But just look at her performance at EiC. The people love her, she sings perfectly and its visible that she has fun at the stage. You can also see her fan base in her music video. She got many fans with those multi-language versions. As there are some countries likely to give points to Serbia anyway, I'm pretty sure that she'll qualify to the final. However, imo she doesn't have big chances to end up in the Top 10, but she might be the surprise of the year, so watch out ! My Prediction: 3 - 8 in the semi final My Hope: 3 in the semi final tomorrow
