extralargeluxembourgdiamond Luxembourg has failed to qualify for the grand final. The results of the semi final 1 of International Music Festival #14 were released, and Luxembourg was NOT a qualifier. Many countries predicted the qualification, but Luxembourgers and Hooverphonic left early as it wasn't good to stay. In Luxembourg city, it is calm.. for now. The riots were prevented when RTL's music channel showed many songs including Rachel Bloom and her fabulous song ''You Can Touch My Boobies''. RTL were proven wrong when they thought a Belgian singer could do better than a Luxembourger. RTL has stated though that this is not the time to give up. And would like to ask an important question regarding the nationality of their next participant. Belgian or Luxembourger? You'll decide! The 2nd semi final was broadcast live on RTL 2 on a slight delay (for an advertisement) and have opened a poll to vote on their favourites.

Jessy K to make a comeback? It appears that Jessy K is looking to make a comeback to IMF with an even better song. RTL Lux asked her if she ever wanted to return to IMF to have her ''revenge''. Jessy said she was working on a new album and will be ready for IMF #17. Jessy never said that she wanted revenge, however a retry.
She does have involvement in this edition, however. She will be a commentator for Luxembourg for all 3 shows, and will be the official spokesperson for Luxembourg. She has yet to confirm that she has intentions to actually take part, but she does have interest.

Luxembourg's participation at #17 all depends on results of #16 SF and #15Luxembourg City, 21:38 PM CET - RTL Lux has just announced that Luxembourg is intending to take part in #17 only IF the results of both #16 and #15 are satisfactory; by which means at least 17th- in the semi final. It's likely that Luxembourg did end somewhere near that in #16, however #15 is the one to watch. The HoD of Luxembourg stated that a withdrawal is possible, should Luxembourg end lower than that. If a withdrawal happened it would be only for one edition, as to find a good song for #18. The public interest in Luxembourg is beginning to decline as Luxembourg's acts cannot seem to qualify to the grand final; even Belgian singers/groups cannot make it for them. The HoD also commentated on the situation saying that: '' Of course we shouldn't give up, however the public and members of RTL Lux are beginning to take this as ridiculous; no matter how far we go. We did have a joke, Jessy K, and didn't expect her to even qualify. When we internally selected Belgian group ''Hooverphonic'' we were very confident we'd make it, but alas we came 15th. And now, Roberto Bellarosa has also failed us, but that was a tough semi final. We have hope for Deborah, and we hope the viewers like her.. however we'll know such when it comes. I myself am disappointed that I have not brought Luxembourg yet to the final, however it's alright every edition, cause IMF is one of Luxembourg's most watched shows and also has fun when Germany is around.'' A decision will come when the semi final results of #16 and semi final/final results of #15 come.

RTL Lux would approve of possible new borrowing rulesRTL Lux has just announced that any new borrowing rules, concerning Luxembourg itself and the micro-states of Europe, will be positively looked at, and approved by members of the Luxembourgian delegation. A group meeting was held today to discuss a future of borrowing. While we don't need to do it, it helps in a tough spot. The Luxembourgian delegation states that they are looking forward to possible changes in the borrowing, concerning their own country. Yesterday, it was announced that the IBU would possibly change borrowing rules for nations, as the Lebanese broadcaster posted. The RTL Lux group researched provinces, regions and countries for all the microstates to borrow from, and the head of the IBU Council, Germany, took this positively. ~That's all from RTL Lux~

extralargeluxembourgdiamond Luxembourg is going to stage an National Selection for #17. We got a good reception at the show today, and for that we're hopeful. You'll know MORE about the NS once I get some applications to be a jury ^^ Just write here if ur interested The format will be the same as the Turkmen national selection which was cancelled in #13. First duel will have 3 songs, 2 will qualify. The second duel will have 3 songs, but only 1 will qualify. There will be a ''second chance'' where the song that failed to qualify in duel 1 and the 2 other songs which failed in duel 2. The highest voted upon will advance into the final. There'll be four songs there. However, the 2 highest voted upon will go into a super final, while the other two are eliminated. In the super final, the highest voted upon song wins, and so that represents Luxembourg in #17

NEWS FROM LUXEMBOURG!
Delain has finally brought Luxembourg to the final since #6! Last night, the results of the first semi final of International Music Festival #16 were known, and Delain were the last ticket into the final, which made citizens in the Grand Dutchy go wild. There was a huge applause from the audience, including from the band Delain. This marks the first time that Luxembourg has qualified since #6 and also the first time since the introduction of a new HoD in #13. RTL Lux now looks positively into the future of IMF and Luxembourg at IMF, where next edition Belgium will do it's work again for Luxembourg. Delain will perform 19th.
National Selection cancelled, however WILL be for #18! Also with happiness comes a disappointment. RTL Lux has announced that the planned national selection for Luxembourg will be cancelled due to cuts. However RTL Lux plans to open the national selection for #18, where they hope more countries will apply. The three known juries for this national selection so far are those who applied for #17: Germany, Slovenia and obviously Luxembourg. So please wait until #18!
ENTRANT KNOWN? And now a bit of excitement comes! It appears that RTL Lux has chosen a representative from neighbouring Belgium. Although negotiations are not entirely clear, it's likely a second or third candidate will be taken into consideration. These are all going to be Belgian artists, and Luxembourg will inform you with an announcement very soon, probably this evening or the week because casting/auditions are ongoing in Luxembourg City now!
That's all from RTL Lux!
