^ I think it's important this contest won't get down because the hosts are busy. It would be great if you could replace the work of making the results/recap videos but if you can't or won't I could most probably do it as well. Though I would definitely close my own contest in that case, but that wouldn't be a matter. |

Okay, I think the time has come to say it clearly. We (=Matt and me) won't keep hosting FSC. The reason is quite simple: lack of time, business in real life, other plans taking a lot of time. If some remember, I had already announced that I wouldn't have as much time as before for contests because I was in an exam year. I underestimated the amount of work back then, and I have to confess that it has become pretty hard to find time - and, let's be honest, motivation - to spend time in a contest. Matt sent me a message something like two weeks ago telling me he wasn't able to go on with his hosting career, because of too much work as well. So he asked me to take care of the contest alone from FSC 41 on, and I must admit that the situation was pretty embarassing for me at that moment ; I can't see myself having my own contest forever, because I already lost some interest hosting (losing the excitement of the results is never good, as Emre already said before) and since I am gonna start university in less than two years... Song Contests won't have an as important place in my life as now obviously. I want to apologize for all the time we made you wait and for not informing you about the situation. I hope none/few of you have lost their interest in that contest, I would feel really bad if it ever disappeared. That's maybe why I took so much time to explain myself. nick already asked for some help first, and said yes to my proposition to purely take over the contest. I need one or two discussions with Matt before giving him all the necessary stuff for hosting (passwords, lessons to update the website, etc.) I am still very moved about all your propositions for helping. If some of you want to have some tasks as admins of the contest, ask  Nick, I'm pretty sure you'd manage to make everyone satisfied  I don't know what will happen about FSC 40. If the new host wants to end it, I'll give him the link to the voting grid with the current results. If not, we'll start back with FSC 41. I'll personally keep on participating anyway, like Matt normally. I can totally understand that some of you may be disappointed what I just said. But I'd still like to ask you to avoid too much negative judgements towards me/us, thanks. All I hope now is a great future for the contest. |
