God why making such a big deal out if it, it was just a bad joke that they didn't get and not an insult or whatever #drama

Why do they put even more hate between the countries with creating something like this? And then they come 'Eurovision UK' or 'Eurovision Spain' writing "Shame on Germany" making it worldwide...

It's really unnecessary to make such a big deal out of it, especially since she did NOT say "Greece is not in Europe". I repeat, she did NOT say that.
She said something like: "Australia does not belong to the EU. Neither does Greece, but they are still allowed to sing". Some audience members: "hihi" Other audience members: "booo!" Barbara: "Oh shitstorm, I guess there'll be a shitstorm".
So, as you might know, there is a difference between "Europe" and "EU". All those articles claim that she said Greece is not in Europe, but she did NOT say that.
In German, the verb "gehören" (=to belong) can have multiple meanings. The first meaning is objective. Australia is objectively not located in the EU. But the second meaning implies her subjective opinion on whether a country like Greece is an adequate member of the EU or not.
What I want to say with that: All those articles lack the real translation. They get mad over a sentence, which they didn't even fully understand.
I'm not supporting Barbara's sentence. But in the end, she is a comedian. It's her job to make jokes. And her reaction ("Oh, shitstorm") shows that she is aware that she said something wrong.

This drama is so unneeded. Other countries also always make jokes and no one says anything. In Greece there was a caricature about Schäuble (a german politician) and nobody cared. Now Barbara makes a joke and they are like "Boo fuck Germany fucking racists" I also didn't like the joke but it isnt needed to make such a drama out of it
