Reviving this tbh  Latvia's flag is brown NEVER EVER offend someone's national flag!!! Even in a thread like this, where everyone is allowed to say everything they want... How would you like if I'd say something offensive about the  irish flag? *  |

It is offensive, because it's my national flag and I don't like it being called brown (or anything that is not true), when it's clearly not brown. As a person who got confirmed by doctor that I have problem recognizing really similar colours I was thinking Latvia´s flag is brown |

It is offensive, because it's my national flag and I don't like it being called brown (or anything that is not true), when it's clearly not brown.  Poland's flag is red should I be offended now Half of your flag is red, so your comparison is not the same... and you wouldn't understand anyway... |

I doubt Tufkai meant it in an offensive way tho. I don't really see it being very offensive, when I was younger I thought it was brown until I realised it's maroon  it's not like he's saying he hates the flag or hates  Latvia so.. |

I doubt Tufkai meant it in an offensive way tho. I don't really see it being very offensive, when I was younger I thought it was brown until I realised it's maroon it's not like he's saying he hates the flag or hates Latvia so.. Even if he didn't, it's still not appropriate to say things like that... I can forgive something like that to small kids, but I think he's old enough to realize that it's not brown colour.. EDIT: It's not actually maroon, but carmine red  |

It´s just a COLOUR! I know what you mean, but... Flags can't speak, but those people who are of different skin colour wouldn't say this phrase.. they would tell you exactly what colour/race they are and would feel pretty offended, if you call them different... When you're doing interior, you don't take just any colour/any tone - you're also specifying the colours/tones you need... and there are many situations in our lifes when we specify colours, because we find that important, so why should it be different with flags? Don't they deserve any respect? |
