Jumping on Rick's bandwagon of listing things he hates......
1)
Those people that comment 'first comment' on videos - like nobody gives a shit that you were there first, everyone is watching the same video and couldn't care less whether you were the 1st person to comment or the 546841536216th person to comment.
2)
People that can't understand my sarcasm even though it's right in front of their faces - I'm a very sarcastic and witty person and although sometimes my friends won't get my sarcasm (because it's just too good for them to understand), sarcasm that is really obvious that I can say to some people and they STILL don't get it really annoys me.
3)
People that make their preconceived judgements really obvious - I understand people judge others from the get-go (I do it too) and while you're entitled to your opinion and such, when you make your preconceived judgement of someone really obvious without actually knowing the person, that really pisses me off. Yes, you are entitled to your opinion but keep it to yourself. Nobody wants to hear you complain about the new girl right in front of her face because you think her hair is 'tacky'.
4)
PEOPLE THAT USE THE WORD SCHOLAR - I don't expect any of you to be annoyed by this either, but I go to a school where about 60% of the people there don't actually care about their education and therefore are stupid or lack intelligence. Then they go onto social media and post selfies of themselves calling themselves 'scholars' because they are wearing glasses or did a random act of kindness (which usually doesn't require any mental capability other than common sense). This really irks me because 99% of the people I know that use the word are dumb as fuck, and this annoys me because I am a true scholar - I get fantastic grades, am intelligent and a good student. Yet some stupid person thinks they're a scholar because they're wearing glasses or did something good - take a seat. Scholar is a highly educated or intellectually capable person - most of them are neither.
5)
Slow readers who offer to read out loud in class - They are truly awful, and make you want to tear your brains out because you've finished reading the whole thing five times before they're even halfway through the whole thing.
6)
People who can't write proper English - Not looking at the second language English speakers - I mean those who speak it as a first language. There is a clear difference between there, their and they're, as well as to, too and two - you were taught that when you were five. So please pick up a dictionary.
These are mostly the people who refer to themselves as 'scholars' (see 4) which makes me want to shoot myself, and is the main reason why I hate this.7)
Intentional misspelling on notes, social media or texts - I don't mind abbreviations like idk, ttyl and brb, but wen u spel lyk dis (but when you spell like this) I get incredibly frustrated because I don't understand why people always type like that - unless you're trolling or being sarcastic, why do you do that? It isn't cool, even though you may think it is.
8)
People that go on and on about anything except the answer to the question you asked - My dad does this all the time and that's probably why I don't like it when people do that. I asked where the keys were Dad, not about the invention of keys or how your day was.
9)
That one person that thinks they're in the group but they really aren't - Every group has one. Everyone is having a great day and then they have to come along and ruin it all, or you have to stop your conversation because you were gossiping and you don't want that person to find out. If you're thinking 'oh but my group is so tight, nobody is like that' well then that person is probably you.
10)
People that can't accept others' opinions - There was this presentation during my social studies class last year that focused on controversial topics like teenage pregnancy, euthanasia and the death penalty, and there was this one girl who couldn't stand or accept my viewpoint on abortion (what my opinion was is irrelevant). She (obviously) had the opposite opinion to what I had, and she just wouldn't let me finish my sentences without saying 'But you're wrong' or 'Have you taken into consideration others?' Like no, it's an opinion, and there is no right or wrong with an opinion. I am cool with your opinion, so why can't you be cool with mine? I have different values, morals and a different life to you, just respect it if you can't agree with it, because you don't always have to agree with an opinion - but at least have the common decency to accept it.
11)
People who use the word gay as boring or lame - I find this one offensive and incredibly ignorant. That's like saying 'that's so asian' or 'that's so black'. Unless you're referring to an actual gay person, please don't use it. I've seen it upset people, and it's not very nice.
12)
Teachers that think school is your only life, or invade your personal life - I find this one incredibly hilarious because teachers will always say 'You've got time for extra homework, I mean it's not like you do anything when you get home anyway.' We all have lives outside of school/jobs. The other thing that annoys me is when teachers ask you what you do in your personal time - do you see me asking the name of your wife and kids, or where you live? No. So please don't do the same to students.
13)
People that spoil movies or TV episodes they've already watched - This one's self explanatory. I am watching it for a reason, if I asked for a summary I would have come to you for one.
14)
People that judge your music tastes - I can relate to this one a lot because ever since I arrived on this forum, I've discovered a ton of new music in different languages. People will go through my music playlists (most of the time without asking) and they'll say things like 'Oh, why do you listen to Spanish music?' or 'Why are you listening to songs in different languages, you speak English.' Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realise I needed your approval to listen to the songs I want to. -.-
15)
When commercials are louder than the TV show - This is because 99% of the time when it happens I get into trouble from my dad for 'turning the TV up too loud'.
16) People That Type Like This oR liKe tHIs - Sorry Greecelove
17)
People that smoke in public places - This one really irks me because secondhand smoke not only smells awful, but is bad for your health. If I wanted to smoke, I would pick up a cigarette myself so stop making everyone else uncomfortable. There are a few people who do this at bus stops and I can't stand them.
18)
People that mispronounce your name - My real name is
Bronson so I've been accidentally called different names like Brandon, Bradley, Benson, Branson, Branston, Bronston, Boston, Bryan and the list goes on. Like where do these people get these extra sounds or letters from?
19)
People that assume way too much - I don't mind people that assume small things (like 'I'm sorry I made dinner 30 minutes early, I thought you would have been home by then') but those people that assume way too much or assume as if they know who you are - please don't. I don't like it when people automatically assume I'm not into having fun or a good time because I'm not very popular at school and therefore don't get invited to parties. I also don't like it when people assume that just because I'm intelligent and get good grades, that it must mean I have no life because I (supposedly) spend all my time studying and doing homework.
20)
Family members that ask if I have a girlfriend - This might just be because I don't exactly enjoy the presence of some of my extended family members but I don't like it when my aunties, uncles or cousins constantly ask whether I have a girlfriend or not every time I talk to them - Please aunty, I have more important things to worry about (homework, school, friends, stress) than getting a girlfriend (which would probably make all those situations worse). I mean, who said I even wanted a girlfriend? Maybe I want a boyfriend, or I want to marry a cat, or die lonely?
21)
Attractive people that think their looks will get them everywhere - Just because you're attractive, that doesn't mean that when you've been a bitch to me and you need help with your work that I will automatically help you - I'm not as stupid as you think I am. They also think that their looks will get them everywhere in life - Bitch please, if you have no qualifications and are a rude person, unless you're willing to fuck the boss or have family relations, I doubt you're getting the job.
22)
When people copy you - See 9. There is one girl who thinks she's in my circle of friends (sadly nobody likes her because she's controlling, overly loud, annoying and has a big mouth) that literally has no sense of originality. During Bandanna Week, one of my friends started wearing her bandanna in a bow and continued to do so after Bandanna Week ended. Next thing you know, this girl has a bow as a decoration on her pencils and soon after starts wearing one too. I also used to bring boot bags to school to carry my sports gear in, and it became a trend among my circle of friends. Next thing you know, she's got one too, except that she has no use for it and to make it funnier, she had the exact same bag as one of my friends
She also follows one of my friends everywhere and does the exact same things as her - one minute my friend is reading a book, she starts reading a book, then my friend stops, and she does! It's crazy
I could go on forever and I'm pretty sure I have a list of pet peeves somewhere else on the forum but there you go
I think I spent like 45 minutes on it (trying to think of what irks me) so I hope someone reads it and actually cares
Sorry if I'm off topic
