Council change Rytis is no longer part of the council, due to several
incomprehensibleness. As already before, I continue hosting the contest alone.
The only thing that is affected because of this is that you no longer have to send song approvals to Rytis but only to me.

Further countries to join the International Broadcasting Union?
Brussels, Belgium - At the official IBU headquarters, current discussions include changes of the contest format. It is currently being negotiated whether new broadcasters should be allowed to join the IBU and therefor the competition. The last time countries outside the current IBU zone took part was at the 26th edition. New talks did now come up because of applications by  Taiwan and  Canada, both suggesting to join the IBU because of the Australian participation. "In any event, the decision we'll agree on will not influence Australia's future at the contest, as we assured SBS that they'll be able to participate" - the official IBU statement on the issue.
Further details are expected to be revealed throughout the thirty-sixth edition. Interested broadcasters can send their messages to the IBU (πππππππ ).

Revealed: New members to join the International Broadcasting Union!
Brussels, Belgium - Shortly after rumours about a possible extension of the IBU member zone, it is now official that new broadcasting stations will be able to join the International Broadcasting Union, and therefor also the International Music Festival."The International Music Festival isn't just relevant in Europe anymore - it shall and must be open for any country on this planet. Therefor, it is now possible for any broadcaster - after it has been approved by the IBU - to join the contest.The current list of applying broadcasters can be seen here. However, countries that aren't featured on this list can also join the contest.Continental selections
To guarantee a fair selection of countries, continental quarter-finals will replace the original quarter-final. In difference to the former one, there's no longer a bottom part of the ranking that first has to qualify to advance to the semi-finals - except for the big 6, every country will take part in it's continental selection.
Each continent will have a specific amount of envelopes based on the amount of countries taking part in it. The qualifiers from the continental selection will advance to the semi-finals as usual.
In order to avoide a first come - first serve system, every person that is interested in having a different country can suggest up to three prefered countries (as first, second and third prefered option). Based on that, the countries will be given to the applying users.
Applications need to include the countries you'd apply for (either one, two or three countries can be favoured) and a broadcaster for each country you'd participate with.
Applications can now be sent to πππππππ as well as further questions on the new system.It is expected that this new system will be introduced for the first time in the 37th edition.
