Don't forget to submit your applications for the new IBU broadcasting stations!
You can still apply in order to receive one of the new countries due to the expanson following next edition.
In order to avoide a first come - first serve system, every person that is interested in having a different country can suggest up to three prefered countries (as first, second and third prefered option). Based on that, the countries will be given to the applying users.
Applications need to include the countries you'd apply for (either one, two or three countries can be favoured) and a broadcaster for each country you'd participate with.
Applications can now be sent to πππππππ as well as further questions on the new system.It is expected that this new system will be introduced for the first time in the 37th edition.

New IBU broadcastiong stations revealment
You can still apply in order to receive one of the new countries due to the expanson following next edition.
There have been numerous submittions that have reached the IBU recently. The IBU has now made a decision on the so far applied countries - you can still apply for any non-taken country (taken countries can be found here. Furthermore, as soon as the new HoDs will confirm their confirmation, their former countries will be given up to draw as well.
These are the new HoDs responsible for their country (scheduled) from the 37th edition:
In case you don't want to accept the draw, please message πππππππ via PM as soon as possible. Otherwise, please quickly confirm your participation at the confirmation thread for the 37th edition, where you can also state further plans for your nation.

Sofia, Bulgaria - With now less than 24 hours away of this edition's big final show, preparations are undergoing in Sofia.
Twenty-six countries are fighting for the title tomorrow, but who will claim the victory?

SBS is looking forward to host the competition
Today's new include updates on the 37th edition, a new council member and a preview of what's to come in 2017.
Canberra, Australia - SBS, the Australian broadcaster, is looking forward to welcoming all participating nations at the up-coming International Music Festival, which will take place sometime next year in Australia.
SBS now officially accepted hosting the contest, as being communicated towards the IBU.
Which city is now going to host the contest? The official bids will be revealed very soon. However, fans so far mainly root for Sydney to host the contest. Sydney's mayor has confirmed the city's interest in hosting the contest.
 Fans predict Sydney to host the next editionBesides, there are some announcements by the IBU:
New council memberThe IBU welcomes @ori2002 as new member of the council. He'll be taking care of social media activities, just to name one thing in particular. The IBU is looking forward to presenting successful work throughout the editions ahead.
Updates on the up-coming contest
As previously revealed, the contest will no longer consist of a quarterfinal, but continental selections which determine the semi-finalists. Only the top six will be directly qualified to the final, while every other nation will take part in the continental "quarter" final. Based on the percentage of countries from each continent, the amount of envelopes will be announced once the confirmations have closed.
Voting presentation change
The IBU can now announce that the voting presentation will be changed as for the next edition. Instead of having each national jury revealing their points, each continent will choose one jury that will then give out all the jury votes from their continent. The places 26 to 11 will be revealed at once, while the top ten will be individually read out. After the jury voting is done, the same procedure will be continued for the televoting part. The IBU looks forward to another exciting voting sequence.
New Year's Eve event in Brisbane, Australia
Along with SBS, the IBU is proud to reveal their first headline event on New Year's Eve in Brisbane, Australia. Artists such as Sia, Delta Goodrem, Samantha Jade, Dami Im, Kylie Minogue, The Veronicas, Guy Sebastian, British girl group Little Mix and many more will perform at the concert.

Continental system gets removed
Today's news include the poll results regarding the format of the contestRESULTSStarting with the 38th edition, the contest will no longer have the continental system, introduced this edition. Instead, the contest will return to it's roots, which means that the broadcasters added with the system are no longer able to take part. The IBU decided to move on with this decision as it was the most voted one on the poll with a fair margin. Besides, some nations have been removed from the IBU broadcasting area and for now aren't able to compete. The countries now removed will be deleted from the confirmation list of the 38th edition.
A list of free nations for those head of delegations can be found on the confirmation thread of the 38th edition.
