Only recently, the Republic of Dýria has decided to open itself up to the world, and is wishing to start trade with various countries.
The country wants to establish more international links to the world - the country has mainly only destinations to  Jarea and  Baesnia, so it's airliner will likely expand more, after the economic boom recently in the country. |

Dýria to join the Westmont Union?
Dyflinnjabórg, Dýria - The parliament of Dýria has been discussing a possible membership into the Westmont Union, created by  Vradiazi.
Politicians have taken the possible membership very positively. Views in Dýria state that joining the union would boost their trade and partnership with other countries, which is vital. Since Dýria is opening up it's borders to the world, it would be missing out if it didn't join the union. Plus, fears in Dýria about their language, Dýrian, being overtaken by, for example, Engju, make the country think about membership, as preserving the Dýrian language is important to all Dýrians, as like other countries, it makes them diverse from each other.
The parliament will meet on Monday afternoon to discuss the membership. If successful, Dýria will join the union by Tuesday, 15th September 2015. |

Membership negotiations for the Westmont Union postponed.
Dyflinnjabórg, Dýria; The parliament of Dýria have officially postponed the negotiations into the Westmont Union to October 2015.
During her visit to  Achróa to meet their president, the president of Dýria, Máireán Ní Chastdóttir announced that negotiations for the union would be "put on hold" and that "nothing is decided just yet. It's a complicated process, as you would want to join for certain, but then you have doubts the next day."
One thing is for certain, is that Dýrians will have their say in this too. Máireán has announced that a referendum would be taken into account for membership negotiations.
Meanwhile, activists in Dýria are looking for equal marriage rights. Máireán, who's a huge supporter of LGBT and equality, has announced her intention to sign the law into legislation. But firstly, it will be put towards the parliament to be certain.

! Dýria announces the decision of Westmont Union membership !
Dyflinnjaborg, Dýria - The people of Dýria have spoken at last. It was announced by a referendum result that Dýria would indeed join the Westmont Union, thus becoming the 8th country to eventually join.
The results were tight, but it seemed like a win for "yes" from the beginning.
Yes, our country should join the Westmont Union - 61%
No, our country shouldn't join the Westmont Union - 36%
Absence from voting - 3%
Turnout: 100%
Despite joining the union, the country is still opening up it's borders with the rest of the world. Right now, Dýria is negotiating to open as many embassies as possible around the world - with an embassy in  Kerwan for example, which is planned to be opened in January 2016.
Tove Lo is ready for Kerwan
Despite the contest not taking place just yet, Tove Lo has announced that she is ready to tackle the stage with her song "Moments" which will have to perform in one of the two semi finals. |

AVIATION NEWS
Dyrian airlines have discontinued flights to "Baesnia" as the country is much smaller than it was before, meaning that it's unknown if the country has an airport yet or not.
Flights to The New Republic of Baesnia will operate regionally - meaning that DyriaAir Regional will fly to the nearest region to the new republic, and passengers can then commute by bus into the tiny republic.
The airline company wishes to expand destinations and is open to all continents.
WEATHER
There is currently a yellow warning put in place around Dyria. Winds have been heavy, accompanied by heavy rain and cold temperatures, lowest being below 0. Due to it's location and being a rather "northern" country, Dyrian winters can be severe in terms of temperature and precipitation.
People are advised to keep warm when going outside and to stay safe.
BAESNIA SITUATION
The new provinces that Dyria has received from the former Baesnia have finally been incorporated into the Dyrian republic. The country is now referred to by citizens as the "United Republic of Dyria" - however the country will still participate under Dyria in the actual contest. These regions were historically Dyrian, and acquiring them again re-unites Dyria by historic terms.
The new regions will be given their Dyrian and  Irsan names in due course.
Dyria was quick to set up relations with the new Baesnia, opening an embassy in the capital (despite the relatively small size). Nothing has changed and both sides cooperate economically brilliant.
FANTASIA
Tove Lo has recently been rehearsing in Kerwan for the 1st semi final of Fantasia Contest #2, which is to be held in Kalidonlinn, the capital city of Kerwan. Tove Lo commented on the country saying that "I've only been here 1 week and I love it. The country really seems like home, but of course not the same. I'm enjoying my experience at Fantasia and to travel here is a bonus. I'll do my best to achieve a better result than La Roux last time!"
Tove Lo will sing for Dyria with her song "Moments" which will perform on position #08 in the 1st semi final.

Plans for #4 already?
Despite the 3rd edition is underway and the running order for semi finals is coming, DRTV has hinted at some plans for the 4th edition. It's unsure whether or not Dyria will actually compete in the 4th edition. The broadcaster will be taking both public interest and recent performance in the contest as factors, and will influence Dyria's final decision. While we wait for the 3rd edition to start, we wish best of luck to 2NE1 who'll try their best to bring us back to the final with their song "Gotta Be You". However, it looks like Dyria is already planning for the 4th edition. DRTV is now looking at methods of internal selection and choosing the right song. Among one of the possible ideas is inviting juries from neighbouring countries to judge certain songs of the internally selected artist. The broadcaster will then shortlist the songs and then a televised show on DRTV will determine the right song. Otherwise, it will be selected just internally with a specific song like the past 3 editions. A national selection is not planned due to budget cuts. Stay tuned for more! |

Dýria to get a new president! This morning, DRTV News confirmed that the current Dýrian president, Máireán Ní Chastdóttir's term of power is coming to an end. She affirmed today from the Árðús an Þúchtárán (Presidential building) that after two terms of power, she cannot try to be the Dýrian president once more. She has been in power for 10 years.She stated this morning that her reign will end in June, an important month in Dýrian history. She has stated that; "I was absolutely proud in being the president of Dýria and making it what it is today.. but my term is up and retirement is on the agenda. In June, you will have a new president, voted upon you, my sweet people. I am certain that he/she will continue making Dýria the nation it is."The vote is scheduled for the end of June 2016.New candidates are to be revealed in May!obv not leaving, just a new president  |

DRTV to launch 5 channels!
DRTV, the Dyrian broadcaster, has finally made the announcement that 5 channels would now be in effect, although there was previously 3.
DRTV made the announcement after the broadcaster expressed interest in the Junior Fantasia Contest and fans speculating what channel it would be on.
DRTV 1 is the main channel on DRTV. It is a more bilingual friendly channel which broadcasts a range of programs in Engju, Dyrian and Irsan, and also shows and movies from around the world.
It also broadcasts the Fantasia Contest. Although the semi finals are normally broadcast on DRTV 2 with dual commentators in Engju, Dyrian and Irsan. Also to mention that the news is broadcast here everyday at 1 pm, 6 pm and 9 pm.
DRTV 2 is a predominantly Dyrian language channel. Airing shows in Dyrian, such as anime and soaps.The Fantasia Semi Finals are broadcast here with dual commentators.
DRTV 3 is an Irsan language channel. Promoting the use of the Irsan language and making it friendly for all age groups, airing shows such as Aifric for teens and kids shows dubbed in the language. There is also news in Irsan on this channel to make it more effective.
DRTV 4 is an Engju channel. It broadcasts shows from Dyria and the world in Engju.
DRTV Sports will air in May 2016. It's purpose, by it's name, is to broadcast big sporting events around the world. It is expected to be watched highly in the summer.
In addition, DRTV has announced that a Foreju language channel will be in the making - and is likely to begin operation in June.
