The bidding phase continues!

Tonight, SRG SSR and NBU received two additional applications from venues interested in hosting the Northvision Song Contest #17.

The third venue, the PostFinance Arena in Bern, is one of the most concert-friendly halls in Switzerland. It can hold up to 17.000 people - it's the biggest indoor-arena in Switzerland and even one of the biggest in Central-Europe. There's also a VIP-Zone and a big service center. The hall owns the newest audio- and video services for an awesome experience. Located in the near of the city centre of Bern it has a perfect location, as the most of the hotels can be arrived in a short time.

The fourth venue is the Hallenstadion, which can host up to 12.000 people in the NVSC setup and is located in the Zurich quarter of Oerlikon in the north of the city.
Next to the Hallenstadion is the Messe Zurich, which can be used as press centre. The infrastructure in Zurich-Oerlikon is aswell a big plus, in the surrounding area are many tram and bus stations and aswell the second-largest train station in the city of Zurich is only 5 minutes by foot.

Italy, under RAI will participate in the seventeenth edition of the North Vision Song Contest! (cheerleader)

The Italian Head of Delegation was quoted as saying such,
"Since a revamp in Italy's way of playing this competition, we have noticed a magnificent increase in good results. This shows in the Ranking of Nations, with

Italy in the first position!

We have automatically qualified two times in a row, with internally selected entrants. However, this will not be the case in NVSC 17. The popular Sanremo festival will be adjusted to become our National Selection process for

Switzerland.

Albeit from the way Sanremo usually occurs, instead we will first have a round for relatively unknown singers, comprising of 10 singers with their originally composed songs. The top four most voted singers will advance to the grand final, to compete against 6 relatively known singers in the Italian music.

In the final the Italian public will vote for their favourite act to represent

Italy in the final. It is hoped that this process will help make unknown artists more recognised in

Italy, as well as throughout the globe. The selection will most likely begin next week, unless there are some time-table changes in RAI's schedule.

French entry is most likely to be selected internally.

Finland will participate in the 17th edition in Switzerland!
Due to recent budget cuts, however, the entry will be selected by internal selection instead of national selection.
The selected entry will be announced in the next few days.

Lebanon will take part in the 17th edition!

A press conference was held in the LBC HQ to decide whether Lebanon would withdraw or take part. It was decided that the Lebanese nation will take part with a National Selection if there isn't any money or staging problems.

Lebanon was 12th last edition in it's semifinal with "Aman" by Myriam Fares who returned to take part the nation after her unexpected 2nd place in Denmark.

Italy the sammarinese selection "Festival di Serravalle #2" is canceled
(because 5/10 songs from unknown artist are denied),
however the entry will be selected OR by internal selection OR by a little national selection (maybe 3 songs)
if the HoD of Italy allows this.
