Evämaen Laulujuhla #01

01. Alejärven

"Sad Machine" - Porter Robinson
Porter Robinson is a DJ from the largest city in Alejärven, Raajastad. He started his career as a teenager and found immediate success in Evämaa and Seneraya and in the underground scene in other countries. He was selected by some of the scouts who had been responsible for Seneraya’s last two entries, meaning he’s already tipped as a favorite to win the contest. On his participation, he said:
“I'm really excited to be participating in this huge show! Seneraya didn’t have anything like it, so to be part of Evämaa’s selection is a great way to integrate. Hopefully the Evämaian people will enjoy my entry as much as they have my other work.”

02. Suurislen

"Eva" - Jippu
Jippu is a young singer-songwriter who has released three albums to critical success. Her first album topped the charts in Suurislen and she found wide success later, when she duetted with Samuli Edelmann, one of the largest old stars in Evämaa. After winning a small radio poll in Viherjärvi, her hometown, to be Evämaa’s representative in the second edition, the Laulujuhla scouts approached her for the selection.
“After having achieved so much success here in Suurislen, competing to represent Evämaa seems like the next step. Even if I don’t win the Laulujuhla, at least I’ll be able to say that I tried and that I did my home proud.”

03. Hyväylä

"Peili" - Sallan ja Miron matka maailman ympäri ft. Mira Luoti
Sallan ja Miron matka maailman ympäri is a collective band hailing from the far north of Evämaa and frozen Kiviranta. They try to stick to their rural roots and specialize in folk rock. On their Laulujuhla entry, they’ve teamed up with Mira Luoti, a singer from the northern part of Suurislen to craft their song.
“Our music is tied to Evämaa’s rural nature and inspired by the long summer days relaxing in our cabins in the country. We hope that Evämaians will be touched and reminded of their own memories in nature.”

04. Länskiiring

"Beibi" - Haloo Helsinki!
Haloo Helsinki! come from Saapu, the second city of Länskiiring. Their band name comes from the name of the neighborhood where the band originated as teenagers. With a few albums under their belt, the band has seen wide success throughout Evämaa, completing a few tours already. Their rabid fanbase throughout the country makes many think they could be waving the Evämaian flag after MadCraft. Lead singer Elli Haloo said:
“After the scouts from Telemaa came to us about doing the Laulujuhla, we knew we had to say yes for our fans. They’ve given us everything, so to represent them and all of Evämaa only feels like the right thing to do.”

05. Kaukaisle

"Torm" - Ines
Ines comes from Kaukaisle Kaupunki and speaks in the Kauka dialect of Evämaen, a variant only spoken on the island. Ines’ past songs tended to be more poppy, especially at the beginning of her career, when the song “Once in a Lifetime” was a hit throughout northern Easton, but her entry in Evämaen Laulujuhla is a fragile ballad. Some think that her past success could help her win the selection. She said:
“The first time I sang this song was in a room with a bunch of other fantastic artists from Kaukaisle, and it was a really special moment. Then, I knew I had to submit this song to the selection show, and I was lucky that the scouts picked me. I hope to do my best for my home.”

06. Midimeri

"How Hard I Try" - filous ft. James Hersey
James Hersey is originally from Seneraya but moved to Midimeri as a young adult, and started a singing career there. He’s teamed up with the Scandavian DJ and past Fantasia Contest participant filous on his entry for the Laulujuhla. The song is already a hit on Evämaian radio, and Midimeri is heavily tipped, along with Alejärven and Länskiiring, to win the selection.
“Evämaa has been such a fantastic home for me to grow as a person and an artist. To represent them on such a huge stage, especially with a professional veteran like filous, would be a tremendous honor.”
